Help design secure, performant, cross-platform browser-based and backend features

Debug and resolve production issues and implement fixes
Participate in the team's on-call rotations
Evaluate new technologies and techniques to improve overall practices

The Customer Identity(CIC) platform secures over 100 million daily logins for customers worldwide - and we’re growing fast! We are currently hiring a Software Engineer to join one of our Identity Security product engineering teams. The team is focused on building and maintaining our Attack Protection feature set. Our goal is to detect and mitigate attacks on our users’ authentication flows from bots and other bad actors and prevent malicious activity from happening on our platform.

You will:

Help design secure, performant, cross-platform browser-based and backend features.
Collaborate inside your team to solve technical and non-technical challenges.
Work closely with Product and Design to determine the optimizal user experience.
Build new and maintain existing features by contributing across the full technical stack.
Debug and resolve production issues and implement fixes for them.
Be a part of the team’s on-call rotations.
Evaluate new technologies and techniques to improve overall practices.

You’d be an excellent fit if you:

Have at least 2 years of software development experience
Like owning, designing and driving features
Enjoy greenfield development and iterating on existing features
Are comfortable writing, and operating full-stack applications.
Are familiar with Node.js and RESTful APIs
Have a good understanding of JavaScript and TypeScript
Have a passion for learning

It is helpful, but not required, if you:

Have experience working in distributed teams and work environments.
Have experience working with React and Styled Components.
Have experience building and maintaining Kubernetes microservices.

Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP with a match, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between:

$99,000—$149,000 CAD
