Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- One to three years of experience completing machining tasks is required.
- Experience in manufacturing or fabrication, specializing in the waterworks industry or a related area, is required.
- Understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials is required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders is required.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools is required.
- Clear, concise, and accurate communication skills are required.
- Ability to prioritize effectively is required.
- Basic mathematics skills are required.
- Basic computer experience is required.
- Ability to pay attention to detail is required.
- Ability to lift and move up to 45 pounds during a 10-hour shift is required.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators and protective gear, is required.
- The candidate must pass a background check and drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate multi-spindle drilling machines to perform drilling operations on metal or other materials.
- Read, interpret, and follow blueprints and work orders.
- Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain performance.
- Load and unload materials into the machine.
- Select, install, and adjust cutting tools, fixtures, and workpieces for proper machining.
- Perform machine tool changes and minor program adjustments as needed.
- Measure finished parts using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to verify dimensional accuracy.
- Monitor machining operations to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Perform routine machine maintenance.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the work area.
- Adhere to all safety rules, personal protective equipment requirements, and company policies.
- Stand, bend, and lift frequently during a 10-hour shift.
- Work in various climate conditions and around moving machinery, heavy materials, and grinding equipment.
- Work overtime and weekends when occasionally required.
