The Medtronic Diabetes Operating Unit is on a mission to deliver the power of an Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) algorithm, as well as our Multiple Daily Injection (MDI) therapy, with its proven benefits to give people with Diabetes a choice in the treatment approach that is right for them. We are looking for a Software Engineer II to be part of this dynamic and high-impact team.
As a Software Engineer II – Mobile Apps, you will be asked to design and develop mobile applications that help patients manage their diabetes. Our product suite spans from medical devices that a patient wears, to mobile apps, up to our back-end servers so this is a challenging task, and one that requires critical thinking to ensure the system performs well.

This position is onsite (hybrid, 3 days per week onsite) in Northridge, CA.
Responsibilitiesinclude the following:
Experience developing and maintaining complex mobile applications (iOS or Android)
Self-motivated with great written and oral communication skills
Ability to collaborate with System and software architects to interpret, analyze, and implement software requirements
Ability to provide constructive feedback to improve other’s designs and implementation
Designs, develops, tests, debugs, and unit tests mobile apps, components, and tools independently without any guidance
Develop in Android Studio or Xcode
Be an expert in one of the following languages: Dart, Java, Kotlin, C/C++, Objective-C, Swift
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills; can identify root cause of complex problems and provide solutions to such complex issues
Knowledge of Database operations on mobile devices
Knowledge of integrating with REST based APIs
Provide feedback to members of the requirements, development, and test team.
Work closely with quality and systems teams to ensure the product works properly from end-to-end, both pre and post-release
Work in agile/scrum environment
Participate and contribute to product code and design reviews
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
2years of software engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Sciences
Or, advanced degree with 1 years of experience
Knowledge of mobile application security (Cert pinning, TLS, SSL)
Have a deep understanding and experience working with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
Experience in cross-platform technologies such asFlutter
Experience coordinating with remote teams
Experience working in a regulated industry
Experience creating and maintaining documentation for software systems such as design documents, class diagrams, and sequence diagrams

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$95,200.00 - $142,800.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
