Requirements
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with at least two (2) years of driving history with a clean record in order to drive for the City
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree or currently enrolled in an economics, finance, statistics, or other data intensive related degree program at an accredited university with one to two years of undergraduate coursework completed
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with either R or Python
  • OR a combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job may be considered by the hiring authority
Responsibilities
  • Prepare lists, spreadsheets, and reports to communicate and track project tasks
  • Data management – evaluating fields in customer data
  • Use R or Python to collate, analyze, and export data
  • Researching properties records
  • Document Standard Operating Procedures to facilitate quality control
  • Assist with underlying goal of improving forecasts of customer demands and department expenses
  • Utilize other data sources as necessary including Weld County Data and other resources for data retrieval and comparison
  • Folder and file management
  • Complete reports for stakeholders and department leadership
Desired Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an economics, finance, statistics, or other data intensive related degree at an accredited university as a junior, senior, or extended senior
  • OR, completion of a bachelor’s degree (four-year degree) from an accredited college or university in an economics, finance, statistics, or other data intensive, or a closely related field
  • Experience with advanced Excel features is preferred
  • Previous experience working on engineering projects within a municipality, utility, or engineering firm
  • Collaboration skills, including the ability to work with others from different areas and backgrounds to reach a common goal
  • Computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and learn and experiment with new software and systems
  • Interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate interaction, communication, and teamwork between others
  • Oral, written, and listening communication skills, including the ability to accurately interpret what others are saying and convey messages, information, concepts, and details accurately and clearly
  • Organizational skills, including the ability to set and meet goals and deadlines, manage appointments, create schedules, coordinate, and facilitate meetings, and make decisions
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple concurrent and competing tasks and responsibilities, and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining personal effectiveness
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and stay on task when completing special projects and daily assignments
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and reliable professional judgment, as well as collaboratively with a team to achieve desired results
  • Ability to maintain a strong work ethic, positive problem-solving attitude, and enthusiasm for the work performed
  • Ability to self-start and take initiative in completing daily tasks and special projects

It provides one-stop access to city departments, contact options for city officials, and a stream of news and updates about government functions, events, and services. The site also offers information about the City Council (seven elected members, including the Mayor) and serves as a channel for the Finance department to share revenue and funding updates.
