Requirements
  • Three to seven or more years of CNC machining experience.
  • Experience with CNC mills and/or lathes.
  • Strong understanding of G-code and machining processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection techniques.
  • Experience with fixturing, tooling selection, and setup optimization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to regularly stand, sit, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, and push, move, lift, or otherwise bear 10 to 30 pounds, with a stated range of 35 to 75 pounds where applicable.
  • Ability to work around chemical, electrical, flammable, and mechanical hazards in a contract manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities
  • Perform complete CNC machine setups, including loading and verifying G-code programs, installing and qualifying tooling, setting tool and work offsets from G54 through G59, and setting up, aligning, and verifying fixtures.
  • Interpret blueprints, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and work instructions to ensure accurate setup and production.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues, including tool wear or breakage and dimensional inaccuracies.
  • Ensure parts meet required tolerances using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 6S standards.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 or equivalent quality standards and internal procedures.
  • Document setup sheets, tooling lists, and job notes accurately for repeatability.
  • Monitor machine performance and report equipment, tooling, or process issues.
  • Follow all safety procedures and report hazards immediately.
  • Reduce setup time across jobs, achieve first-article approval on first runs, minimize scrap and rework, ensure on-time job readiness, maintain setup documentation, and contribute to continuous-improvement and process-optimization initiatives.
Desired Qualifications
  • Strong setup experience with CNC machining.
  • Experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis CNC mills and/or lathes.
  • Familiarity with CAM software such as Fusion 360, Mastercam, or similar.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 or similar quality systems.
  • Experience with UniPoint and JobBoss.
