Requirements
  • Working knowledge of computer-aided machining, modern manufacturing processes, or computer numerical control, including application of appropriate software.
  • An associate degree or two-year technical certificate.
  • Four years of experience in a related field with an associate degree, two years of experience in a related field with a bachelor's degree, no experience with a journeyman card or certificate, or eight years of experience in a related field with no degree.
  • Ability to work independently, convey subject material, quickly return graded materials, adapt instruction to students' levels, and compose syllabi from the assigned syllabus shell.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and organize instructional work.
  • Professional, positive, proactive, responsive, and efficient approach.
Responsibilities
  • Develop syllabi using the assigned syllabus shell, including evaluation procedures and assignment calendars aligned with the course outline.
  • Prepare lesson plans and conduct face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid classes at scheduled times using department-approved texts.
  • Follow department course-content guidelines and best practices.
  • Use appropriate classroom-management techniques and technology.
  • Create and evaluate assignments, assessments, and class activities; assign grades; return graded work promptly; and maintain attendance and grade records.
  • Report attendance and final grades by published deadlines and submit required electronic records.
  • Administer course evaluations as instructed by the college.
  • Use the college course-management system, Microsoft Office Suite, and approved compatible programs.
  • Submit requested electronic documents, monitor college email and campus mail, respond to student inquiries, and meet with students outside class when necessary.
  • Attend department and school meetings, participate in student-learning assessment activities, and perform assigned departmental duties.
  • Display professional and collegial behavior toward students, colleagues, supervisors, and the college community.
