Requirements
- Must hold a valid Class D driver's license for three continuous years.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- A 7D license is required for this position.
- Must complete and maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must pass CORI, EEC BRC fingerprinting, and child protective services background checks.
- Must pass a paid pre-employment physical and drug and alcohol testing, and be enrolled in the drug and alcohol testing consortium.
- Must be able to work with others as part of a team and communicate effectively.
Responsibilities
- Transport children according to established safety rules and Massachusetts Department of Transportation regulations while observing all rules of the road.
- Ensure all required safety equipment is secured and properly stocked.
- Follow vehicle maintenance protocols and report service needs to the Assistant Transportation Coordinator or Transportation Coordinator.
- Keep the exterior and interior of the vehicle clean and free of potentially hazardous or sharp materials.
- Clean areas affected by sickness or bodily accidents using the body-fluid cleanup kits located in the vehicle.
- Ensure that all children are safely seated and have secured seats or seatbelts at all times.
- Monitor orderly entry to and exit from the vehicle, including helping children on and off safely.
- Transport children on a designated route within the timeframe identified by the Department of Early Education and Care.
- Complete a daily pre-trip and post-trip inspection form.
- Submit weekly trip reports consisting of mileage and gas receipts.
- Maintain a daily transportation log containing drop-off and pickup times and participant attendance.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with children is preferred.
- Professional driving experience is preferred.
