Requirements
  • Industry expertise and relevant certifications may substitute for formal academic qualifications.
  • A high-level cybersecurity certification such as Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional, GRID, Certified Information Systems Security Professional, or certified ISA/IEC 62443 cybersecurity specialist is required.
  • Typically 10+ years of experience in a Principal, Technical Lead, or Design Authority capacity specializing in Operational Technology Cybersecurity, Industrial Control Systems, or Smart Building Systems.
  • Direct experience engineering security solutions for hyperscale or colocation data centres and large-scale corporate real estate portfolios.
  • Extensive knowledge of IEC 62443, Zero Trust models, and traditional Operational Technology networking protocols, including BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP, and KNX.
  • Strong experience establishing physical and digital Operational Technology site auditing processes and compiling executive-level and deep-dive technical reports.
  • Ability to influence executive-level client stakeholders and internal delivery teams through technical credibility and clear strategic communication.

Responsibilities
  • Define, design, and execute end-to-end technical security architectures for complex Operational Technology, Building Management Systems, and Internet of Things ecosystems across global corporate real estate and hyperscale data centres.
  • Embed cybersecurity into the physical and logical design of Building Management Systems and Smart Building infrastructure.
  • Collaborate across consulting and delivery functions, aligning strategic advice with field engineering and commissioning.
  • Champion global security standards, including IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, and CIS Controls, and translate compliance into practical engineering implementations.
  • Design and deploy network micro-segmentation, identity and access management, and Zero Trust policies for legacy and modern Operational Technology systems.
  • Lead the Cybersecurity SteerCo within the Technical Design Authority and provide cybersecurity subject-matter expertise to other SteerCos.
  • Chair and coordinate the Cybersecurity SteerCo across engineering, software, and operational subject-matter experts.
  • Curate, test, and evaluate emerging security tools in the Digital Lab and create technology-agnostic integration playbooks.
  • Translate subject-matter expertise into scalable commercial cybersecurity offerings.
  • Develop next-generation Operational Technology cybersecurity evaluation standards based on existing building-audit methodologies.
  • Lead complex Lighthouse audits at flagship client sites and turn technical findings into strategic portfolio risk narratives.
  • Establish repeatable, playbook-driven auditing packages for handover to engineering teams.
  • Provide technical governance and quality oversight for global Operational Technology cybersecurity deliverables.
  • Lead development and engineering of Operational Technology cybersecurity frameworks, operational policies, and threat-mitigation guidelines.
  • Own the technical design, setup parameters, and operational playbooks for the Operational Technology Security Operations Centre.
  • Develop threat-detection use cases, alerting rules, and incident-response playbooks for BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks protocols.
  • Partner with engineering and operations leaders to test and implement scalable operational workflows.
  • Architect technical service components to support enterprise-grade Service Level Agreements.
  • Create, define, and launch standardized global Operational Technology cybersecurity services such as threat hunting, managed detection, and secure remote access.
  • Drive cybersecurity thought leadership through strategic insights, industry panels, and client forums.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select cybersecurity partners and influence partner technology roadmaps.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers across the digital engineering division.
  • Champion continuous learning and cybersecurity certifications for engineering teams.
  • Improve project-delivery processes, tools, and frameworks.
  • Support lessons learned, knowledge sharing, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Encourage adoption of best practices and efficient ways of working.
  • Promote a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
  • Represent FPC professionally in client and internal interactions.
  • Lead and support project teams while fostering collaboration and performance.
