Requirements
  • A Texas Property and Casualty insurance agent license is required.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • Two to four years of Private Client Account Executive experience is preferred.
  • Participation in CIC, CPCU, or CPRM, or a comparable designation, is preferred; without designations, seven years of Account Executive experience is preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
  • Willingness to work beyond scheduled hours to meet client needs, including monitoring email and responding to important emails and calls after hours and on weekends when necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and current internet technologies.
  • Ability to learn, analyze, and comprehend commercial lines of insurance.
  • Ability to service clients effectively through problem solving, appropriate confidentiality, diplomacy, sensitivity, and tactfulness.
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with, meeting with, and partnering with assigned clients through routine phone and email contact and periodic meetings and planning sessions.
  • Demonstrated experience in client-facing roles, including presenting client new business and renewal presentations, strategy meetings, claims reviews, and mid-year reviews.
  • Ability to interact with, support, collaborate with, and direct employees in subordinate, peer, and superior roles.
  • Ability to speak professionally and comfortably in front of others.
  • Ability to travel to meet client service needs when necessary.
  • Ability to represent the agency in a competent and professional manner and wear appropriate business attire for client events or meetings unless otherwise advised by the client.
Responsibilities
  • Process documents necessary to maintain the client insurance program using the agency management system.
  • Act as the primary contact with the Producer and/or client.
  • Conduct new business placement and cross-selling as needed to maintain the client’s insurance program.
  • Initiate correspondence with the marketplace.
  • Act as the primary contact with insurance companies to ensure proper processing of requests necessary to maintain the client’s insurance program.
  • Maintain client relationships, analyze situations, make proactive decisions, and follow through.
  • Prepare and obtain pre-renewal updates for all clients.
  • Create ACORD applications, including supplemental applications, for submissions to carriers.
  • Use carrier websites and Silverplume as appropriate to price policies.
  • Prepare proposals or summaries for renewal terms.
  • Issue ACORD insurance binders for renewal terms when policies are not delivered to clients before renewal.
  • Initiate premium payment requests.
  • Prepare policies for delivery to clients.
  • Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Create requests for changes to client coverage.
  • Manage accounts receivable.
  • Manage direct billing with respect to cancellations.
  • Process mail and phone requests daily.
  • Prepare renewal documents, including insurance proposals, ACORD insurance binders, and evidences of insurance.
  • Follow document retention software documentation guidelines.
  • Review insurance policies in their entirety.
  • Provide direction and guidance to other team members when appropriate.
  • Instruct and direct clients as appropriate to meet client needs.
  • Delegate tasks to outsourcing teams as appropriate.
  • Ensure outsourcing team tasks are completed as directed.
  • Coordinate and monitor the usage and quality of outsourcing teams.
  • Mentor the Account Manager and contribute to their training.
  • Build and maintain carrier and broker relationships.
  • Negotiate with carriers on cost and program design.
  • Assist with plan recommendations for clients.
  • Coordinate, present, and attend client meetings, including mid-year and renewal meetings.
  • Schedule and participate in meetings for pre- or post-renewal discussions, claims and loss-control meetings, information gathering, policy delivery, and payment collection, with or without the Producer as necessary.
  • Obtain insurance designations such as CIC, CPRM, or CPRIA, or an equivalent designation.
  • Analyze insurance quotes and make recommendations.
  • Interpret insurance contract requirements for certificates.
  • Communicate with insurance carriers and clients as needed.
  • Attend client-facing meetings in-house or offsite as required.
  • Become proficient with premium analysis software.
  • Stay current on carrier plans and websites.
  • Use carrier online rating programs as necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge of policy forms and endorsements and explain detailed coverage provisions to clients.
  • Design insurance programs for clients based on defined needs.
  • Use the agency management system to monitor predefined activities, such as expired policies and aged accounts receivable.
  • Identify and address coverage gaps with the Producer, carrier, and client.
  • Become a subject matter expert and resource in an area of interest or technical capability.
  • Contribute to a team approach toward meeting agency goals and providing client service.
Desired Qualifications

  • Two to four years of Private Client Account Executive experience.
  • Participation in CIC, CPCU, CPRM, or a comparable designation.
  • Seven years of Account Executive experience if the candidate has no insurance designations.
