Requirements
  • Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (Class of 2025 or 2026).
  • Portfolio of "Things": A track record of actually building physical hardware. Whether it’s high-impact internships, senior design projects, or a workbench full of hobbyist electronics (Raspberry Pi, ESP32, custom PCBs), we want to see what you’ve brought to life.
  • Technical Versatility: You have a foundational understanding of circuit design and CAD, but you aren't afraid to write code. You should be comfortable (or eager to become comfortable) in Python or C++ to make your hardware talk to our software.
  • Mindset: You are a "fully formed adult." You don't wait for a manual or a step-by-step guide; you figure out what you need to get stuff done and you do it with a professional, "owner" mentality. You understand that in a team of 22, feedback is the fastest way to level up, and you welcome it.
Responsibilities
  • Optimize the Edge: Improve the reliability of cameras, detectors, and night-time illuminators that survive 24/7 exposure.
  • Prototyping & R&D: Design circuit schematics and PCBs for new hardware integrations that push our device performance further.
  • Full-Stack Hardware: Write the on-device code (Python/C++) to integrate new sensors and ensure the servers can handle the incoming data.
  • Build for Scale: Iterate on CAD models to make our assembly process faster and more robust.

Blissway uses small roadside devices called Wireless Autonomous Lane Enforcers (WAL-Es) paired with cloud data analytics to identify, track, and toll vehicles without traditional gantries. WAL-Es collect vehicle data from the roadside and feed it to the cloud, where multi-lane tolling, vehicle classification, and occupancy verification for express and HOV lanes are managed, with interim tolling and disaster recovery for continuity. Unlike systems that rely on windshield transponders and gantries, Blissway moves toll monitoring off the road into scalable cloud-powered processing. The goal is to provide a reliable, scalable tolling and traffic-management system for highway operators and government agencies, supported by ongoing service, maintenance, and data analysis revenues.

What believers are saying

  • WAL-Es on I-70 and I-25 cut weaving violations 75% and crashes 20%.
  • CDOT generates millions from $75 weaving fines using Blissway tech.
  • Y Combinator backing supports scaling post-Denver contract award.

What critics are saying

  • Yunex GNSS tolling eliminates WAL-E hardware needs in 6-12 months.
  • CDOT shifts to permanent systems eroding Blissway revenue in 12-18 months.
  • Kapsch invalidates Blissway's 3 patents blocking scalability in 12-24 months.

What makes Blissway unique

  • Blissway deploys WAL-Es roadside instead of gantries and transponders.
  • WAL-Es enable zero upfront cost deployment in weeks.
  • Stanford founders leverage IoT and ML expertise for vehicle fingerprinting.
