Requirements
  • Engineering degree, Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from a four-year college or university, or a related degree.
  • One to three years of experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing programs, critical path method scheduling programs such as Primavera Project Planner, project management software, and Microsoft Office software.
  • Understanding of and experience using cost and productivity data.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, verbally and in writing, with the job team and owners.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts including plane geometry, solid geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply fractions and percentages to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to solve practical problems involving concrete variables where limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze and understand plans and specifications.
  • Follow administrative procedures outlined in the Project Administration Manual.
  • Inspect construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
  • Supervise and coordinate the submittal process and working drawing requirements.
  • Prepare or direct the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, environmental impact studies, and project designs as necessary.
  • Provide contract interpretation and clarification.
  • Maintain and update project schedules, including monthly schedules and weekly two-week look-ahead schedule reviews with the Project Superintendent and Assisting Project Superintendent.
  • Understand cost and productivity data.
  • Maintain, verify, and report cost and income quantities for work performed.
  • Review, approve, and submit progress billings.
  • Analyze, prepare, maintain, and monitor job costs and production budgets.
  • Work with the Superintendent to control job costs and the production budget.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely monthly cost, income, and cash flow projections.
  • Execute and approve subcontractor requisitions and vendor invoices.
  • Coordinate, price, and assist the Project Manager with settlement of change orders and claims.
  • Respond to issues quickly and proactively solve problems while handling multiple tasks.
  • Manage time and efficiently organize the office and filing system, including accurate project correspondence files.
  • Maintain subcontractor insurance certificate compliance.
  • Maintain project compliance with underground utility notifications and locations, including Miss Utility and other services.
  • Promote and participate in two-week and long-range planning with the job team, including the job team in all planning.
  • Work with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Consistently apply and enforce the Safety Policy.
