Requirements
  • Pass the company’s appropriate security clearances.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Be able to stand, lift, bend, stretch, reach, see, hear, learn, read, concentrate, think, and communicate.
  • Be able to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift and/or carry 30 pounds unassisted.
  • Be able to stand for eight hours.
  • Know proper cleaning, organization, and handling of dishes, flatware, and kitchen utensils.
  • Know sanitation and cost controls, safety and security measures, chemicals, and water temperatures.
  • Work within productivity standards and follow the company’s systematic cleaning procedures.
  • Work alone without direct supervision and as a team member.
  • Comply with all standards, multitask, remain service centric, and communicate professionally with guests and co-workers.
  • Immediately report or correct hazardous conditions.
  • Be available to work any day or shift, including weekends.
  • Maintain a physical presence at the hotel; the position is not conducive to telecommuting or remote work.
Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent guest service in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner while following friendly hospitality standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and the usage and organization of supplies.
  • Set up the workstation, including the dish machine, chemical levels, and presoak.
  • Operate equipment as intended by the manufacturer, clean and wipe the outside of machines, and request maintenance assistance for repairs and temperature issues.
  • Clean equipment including hoods, filters, steam tables, bus tables, carts, ovens, and grills.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including storerooms.
  • Follow emergency procedures.
  • Set up meeting rooms when applicable, handle guest issues, and perform houseman duties when assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that the associate is capable of performing as hotel needs arise.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in similar capacities in lodging, housing, hospitals, or care facilities.
  • Food handling certification.
