Requirements
  • An associate degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of demonstrated successful consultative sales experience within the fire life safety, electronics, general construction, or electrical construction industry is required.
  • Comprehensive industry knowledge of fire alarm, nurse call, special hazards suppression systems, security, or other related low-voltage systems is required.
  • Ability to quickly identify and qualify opportunities and handle complex, large-scale accounts and high-value contracts.
  • Experience working with electrical contractors, general contractors, consultants, engineers, or end users, including the ability to read construction blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Written and verbal communication skills for dealing tactfully and diplomatically with customers.
  • Reliability, self-motivation, organizational skills, negotiating skills, and follow-up skills are required.
  • Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, and customer relationship management software is required.
  • Applicants must satisfy background requirements and have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is required.
Responsibilities
  • Prospect and cultivate new relationships and identify and educate prospective customers about the company’s products and services.
  • Identify customer needs and develop strategies to meet company sales objectives.
  • Lead the sales process from proposal development through closing, including crafting scopes of work, managing project scope communication, and handling change-order costs.
  • Serve as the primary client contact and establish and maintain partnerships before, during, and after the sales process.
  • Oversee customer accounts, including managing active accounts and fostering sales growth.
  • Collaborate with partners in transportation, enterprise accounts, utilities, financial and banking, healthcare, data centers, federal, state, and local governments, and K–12 and higher education markets.
  • Conduct needs assessments and construct proposals for system installation and service opportunities.
  • Develop financial justifications, perform takeoffs, prepare estimates and proposals, deliver presentations, and conduct follow-up to close sales.
  • Build market awareness through networking, presentations, event attendance, and participation in industry associations.
  • Partner with operations personnel to execute growth, development, sales, and marketing strategies.
  • Achieve agreed-upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule.
