Job Description:
The Arizona Child and Adolescent Survivor Initiative’s (ACASI) mission is to foster the healing of intimate partner homicide (IPH) survivors and victims of other forms of intimate partner violence (IPV). ACASI provides statewide, trauma-informed, wraparound services to children and adolescents who have lost a parent to IPH or otherwise been a victim of IPV and their caregivers. Under the direction of the Project Director, the Case Management Coordinator/Advocate will develop client-driven service plans to respond to survivors’ needs.
Essential Duties:
Provides intensive case management services to child/adolescent IPH/IPV victims aged birth to 21 and their caregivers. Provides intensive case management services to caregivers/adult victims. Conducts home visits and safety assessments. Completes intakes and needs assessments to formulate initial plans of service. Coordinates services for identified needs including mental health, medical, legal, financial, housing and transportation. Ensures continuity of care through in-person, electronic, telephonic and written communication. Assists with obtaining protection orders when needed. Facilitates client access to telehealth services. Facilitates caregiver and peer support groups and events. Provides personal advocacy related to civil and legal rights, victim rights, education, employment and housing. Accompanies victims to court hearings and meetings with law enforcement, prosecutors and others in the criminal legal system. Provides information and assistance with victim compensation forms. Utilizes the ACASI case management electronic record system to track demographic information, document case plans and provide performance measure data. Documents and manages confidential case files to record all contacts and services for victims in a timely manner. Maintains an especially high level of ethical behavior and cultural competence. Maintains an updated resource directory. Participates in community task forces and committees to aid victims. Develops/implements outreach objectives to prepare community partners to identify victims and direct them to services. Collaborates with contracted mental health professionals and other service providers to coordinate client care. Attends professional trainings as directed. Travels throughout the state to provide direct victim services to victims who live in isolated, rural communities. Seeks out and develops new partnerships with local and statewide resources for victims. Facilitates community outreach events and in-service training to increase awareness of victim related topics. Supervises and trains AmeriCorps volunteers and interns to deliver ACASI services. Performs other direct victim service duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in social work, social services, human services, criminal justice or related field AND four (4) years of providing direct services to clients. Experience working with crime victims in an advocacy field or within legal system. A valid Arizona Driver’s license upon employment. Knowledge of Crime Victim Rights and the criminal justice system. Knowledge of counseling, conflict management and crisis intervention services. Skill in verbal and written communication. Skill in prioritizing work and activities. Skill in problem solving and critical thinking for decision making. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and use good judgement in prioritizing work assignments. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
Working Environment:
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Regularly performs tasks in the field traveling throughout the state. Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions.
Salary Range: $57,000-$62,000
