A Day in the Life
The Regional Manager supports the Therapy Development team of TDMs and FCEs in driving procedural success in TMVR and TTVR cases. The Manager directs the daily operations of the team and coordinates with a cross functional team including Research and Development, Clinical, Quality, and others to ensure therapy adoption by customers, safe patient outcomes, meaningful device iteration feedback, best in class customer education, and, ultimately, successful commercialization of the TMVR and TTVR devices.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The following responsibilities are to be performed as appropriate to ensure safe adoption and optimal patient outcomes.
- Manage and direct the daily operations of the Therapy Development team for clinical trial case support, executing on the strategies outlined by the Director, Therapy Development TMVR/TTVR.
- Recruit, develop, retain and manage staff of Field Clinical Specialists accountable for delivering technical support to ensure safe adoption and procedural outcomes.
- Monitor, guide, and coach remote direct reports to achieve enrollment targets, improve skills and productivity, and build sustainable customer relationships.
- Develop, implement, and manage business strategies to meet and exceed financial objectives.
- Develop global staffing matrix to ensure adequate case support needs are met.
- Partner with global cross-functional leaders to ensure adequate ancillary case support availability, delivery of industry leading physician training in accordance with local regulations and CIP, support of on-site training/in-servicing for local hospital physicians, nurses, techs and staff.
- Assist in AOP management, forecast creation, achieve revenue and expense goals.
- Support Therapy Development team in coordination and delivery of local training programs.
- Partner with Clinical, Quality, and the field team to ensure customer and device complaints are reported and resolved in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the Sr Global Training Program Managers to ensure FCS’ follow procedural best practices, are current on all imaging modalities (echo, CT, angiography), receive training on current and future device iterations, and stay up to date on relevant published data for both Medtronic and its competitors.
- Perform annual field evaluations and provide constructive feedback to improve individual performance.
- Manage corporate resources, including demo product, simulators, and imaging equipment, direct allocation of resources and team members globally.
- Identify, establish and maintain productive working relationships with key decision makers, customers and their staff, administrative staff, etc.
- Participate in customer/society education meetings and conventions.
- Maintain high standards of personal presentation and promote a professional personal and company image.
- Help drive and maintain quality initiatives and global best practice initiatives.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, with 5+ years of managerial experience
OR
- Advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years case support experience
10+ years medical device industry, clinical or sales experience in an industry setting; supporting interventional cardiology, vascular or surgical products
5+ years’ experience in Clinical Research, hospital, engineering or medical devices (3+ years’ experience with Master’s degree or 1+ years with PhD)
2+ years people leadership experience
2+ years’ experience in the management of clinical devices
5+ years’ experience in a cath lab, operating room, biomedical engineering, hospital/clinic or medical sales
Excellent influencing and consulting skill
Ability to deal with difficult situations and resolve conflict
Ability to manage in remote self-structured environment
Experience with teaching/training medical personnel
Ability to make timely and sound decisions under pressure
Thorough working knowledge of medical terminology, medical procedures and the medical device industry
Experience developing and managing an operational budget
Expertise with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Effectively build and maintain positive relationships with direct reports, peers and colleagues across organizational levels and functions
Ability to coordinate/participate in numerous tasks/projects in a fast-paced environment in an organized manner while meeting deadlines
Strong work ethic in accomplishing objectives of the position
Ability to travel with overnight stay up to 75% of the time (geography variability)
Ability to accommodate an unpredictable schedule

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$180,000.00-$220,000.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
