Calibration and Test Software Engineer (Co-op Student)

Overview
As a co-op student you will be part of the Modules Calibration and Test Automation Team. The team designs and develops test and calibration automation infrastructure (software and hardware solution) for Lumentum WSS / ROADM Modules. The team also supports the exiting software solutions that are deployed to Manufacturing site for bug fixes and feature additions.
The Opportunity

Responsibilities
The Calibration and Test Software Engineer (Co-op Student) responsibilities would include but not be limited to the following:
- Develop software for calibrating Lumentum WSS / ROADM Modules.
- Strong focus on developing React and .NET based web apps and visualizations.
- Implementing new data interpolation and optimization algorithms for improving calibration speed and performance.
- Optimization and interpolation techniques could include using classic fitting algorithms or Machine Learning in .NET or Python (TensorFlow).
Education Qualifications
- 3rd or 4th year Software/Computer Engineering or Computer Science, although software-inclined candidates from other Engineering/Science disciplines would also be considered.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Strong C#, JAVA (or similar language) programming experience
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Experience developing modern SPA web apps (React with TypeScript, Vite, React-Query, Tailwind CSS preferred)
- Familiarity of web technology – JS/TS, CSS, HTML, REST APIs
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git/Subversion)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with optical systems is an asset.
