Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • BSN is required; MSN or related master’s degree is preferred
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Strong clinical knowledge and leadership abilities
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Minimum five years of inpatient nursing experience
  • At least two years of leadership experience
Responsibilities
  • Implement and ensure compliance with Nursing Practice Guidelines
  • Promote evidence-based practice and staff participation in shared governance
  • Support professional development through education, certifications, and involvement in nursing organizations
  • Align departmental goals with LHMC’s mission and strategic priorities
  • Use data to guide daily operations and performance improvements
  • Foster collaboration within and across departments
  • Communicate effectively to keep staff informed and engaged
  • Lead initiatives to improve clinical outcomes and patient experience
  • Monitor quality metrics (e.g., NDNQI, Core Measures) and collaborate with teams to address opportunities
  • Support compliance with regulatory and safety standards
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and retain top nursing talent
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support ongoing staff education
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive environment that values creativity and celebrates accomplishments
  • Ensure current licensure and certifications for all staff
  • Participate in budget development and manage expenses responsibly
  • Implement cost-effective staffing and identify opportunities for savings
  • Pursue continuous learning and professional development
  • Support community engagement and uphold LHMC’s guiding principles
  • Maintain excellent customer service and contribute to quality-improvement activities
