Reporting to the Senior Mgr, Regional and Independent Sales HE, the New Business Sales Manager will be responsible for managing current key accounts while developing and driving new sales opportunities beyond the current, traditional Consumer Electronics retail channels. The expectations of this role are to develop a comprehensive business strategy, to find and develop opportunities within builder communities, premium & incentive, carrier and corporate markets (and others that may become relevant). The incumbent is expected to understand and clearly articulate Samsung’s products and value proposition to partners. The candidate will also be expected to travel and to exhibit exceptional skills in communication, selling, cold calling, reporting and forecasting, and administrative duties.
Role and Responsibilities
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities and business relationships which result in the achievement of increased revenue, profitability and market share.
- Responsible for building sales growth aligned to the strategic objectives of the business units (HE).
- Driving new and current business forward and delivering sell-thru and other specified results.
- Driving new channel opportunities such as premium incentive, corporate B2B, real estate companies, interior designers & luxury home builders, banks and reward companies.
- Effectively communicating business trends, strategy and analysis to internal executive leadership and to the client customer.
- Navigating the organization and partner with cross-functional team members to effectively drive key deliverables.
- Relied upon as the subject matter expert on the business; balancing strategy with flawless execution.
- Developing and negotiating customer sales agreements on behalf of SECA for assigned products.
- Meeting regularly with the account to become a trusted advisor who can effectively communicate Samsung’s vision and interfacing at all levels within organizations to obtain support for strategy and tactical plan, including negotiating necessary arrangements.
- Providing ongoing communication with the account to ensure satisfaction; leading negotiations to continue and grow business opportunities.
- Analyze and integrate retailer sales data, market metrics, competitor landscape; identifying insights that lead transformational ideas; and influencing strategic and tactical choices.
- Ensuring that customer negotiated commitments are achieved according to plan; ensuring availability of products and delivery schedules to support sales opportunities.
- Developing and maintaining consistency in all marketing vehicles to further leverage the Samsung brand and products.
- Preparing program budgets, and project plans, management, progress, expenditure, and other related reports to identify performance and successful achievement of objectives or variances.
- Preparing and presenting reports and management analysis to establish business plans. Report on the performance of the assigned business division against plan.
- Providing account plans to develop mutual performance objectives, financial targets, forecast achievement and critical milestones.
- Expect to travel as required to fulfil role, for ongoing customer and SECA internal meetings.
- Be based out of our Mississauga Sales office and will report directly to the Senior Mgr, Regional and Independent Sales.
- Successfully complete in a timely manner any certifications as mandated by HQ.
Skills and Qualifications
Education:
- University education preferred.
Knowledge:
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other office products.
- Key knowledge of the Home Electronics channel.
Experience:
- 7+ years of related experience preferred.
- Retail and builder experience preferred.
- Existing relationships important.
- Proven selling ability.
- Strong oral and written communications skills, presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Possess business acumen and strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills; ability to translate KPIs and results into actionable insights and initiatives to drive top/bottom line growth.
- Versatile in multi-tasking.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact comfortably with a wide range of levels in organizations: from senior executives to support staff within and outside of the company.
- Must be highly self-motivated and capable of self-directed work given only broad objectives and limited direct supervision
- Must be capable of planning, organizing and prioritizing multiple and simultaneous projects and assignments.
Travel:
- This role may require travel.
