- A master's degree in mental health or a related field, together with an LPC, LMFT, or LCSW license, or mental health experience.
- Knowledge of or experience working in the mental health or chemical dependency field.
- Ability to work cooperatively with program staff.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Clinical experience sufficient to perform required clinical assessment services.
- Respond to crisis inquiries and intakes.
- Provide clinical screening and crisis intervention services.
- Mobilize internal and external resources.
- Establish appropriate stabilization and disposition for each case in coordination with psychiatric staff.
- Ensure appropriate information and referral for follow-up care when cases do not require admission to hospital services.
- Training in non-violent crisis intervention is helpful, although training can be provided after employment.
