Project Development Intern

Position Overview:

An opportunity within Ameresco’s Southeast Project Development Team for a Project Development Intern to help grow the Energy Savings Performance Contracting team in the United States. Assist our experienced staff of Project Development Engineers develop projects for energy savings within HVAC, lighting, domestic water systems, solar photovoltaic, microgrids, and other energy conservation, sustainability, and green technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in analyzing utility information for facilities.

• Assist in onsite facility assessments to analyze buildings systems and components.

• Assist in performance of calculations including equipment loading and energy and cost savings calculations.

• Work directly with subcontractors to develop costs for implementation of energy conservation measures.

• Work directly with equipment manufacturers to select equipment and obtain pricing.

• Work with our Business Development, Project Development, and Operations and Maintenance staff to help develop projects through all project phases.

• Assist in development of financial models.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in Mechanical, Electrical, or other engineering program – working towards a BS degree in this area.

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience in Microsoft Office software

• Strong organization skills

• Self-starter that is willingness to take direction and learn

• Strong verbal, written, computer communication and technical presentation skills.
