  • B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work or education related experience required.
  • Minimum two years of experience in mortgage loan production, including conventional, FHA, and VA products required.
  • Minimum two years of mortgage loan sales experience, and/or consultative sales experience in financial services or a financial institution required.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for members throughout the mortgage process, from application to funding, ensuring a seamless and positive experience.
  • Build lasting connections by conducting needs assessments, offering tailored mortgage solutions, and maintaining regular follow-up to strengthen member trust.
  • Support individual and team goals by fostering member engagement, coaching team members, and driving referral generation in assigned branches.
  • Develop and maintain mortgage referral relationships with members, internal teams, business development managers, and external partners to expand mortgage business.
  • Empower branch and center teams by providing training, tools, and coaching on mortgage products, sales strategies, and best practices.
  • Represent BECU in community events and organizations, promoting the credit union’s mortgage products while building meaningful relationships.
  • Work closely with members to finalize loan terms and ensure compliance with BECU’s lending policies and procedures.
  • Stay current with federal and state mortgage lending regulations and share updates with team members to ensure process adherence and legal compliance.
  • Utilize mortgage loan origination systems (LOS) and underwriting tools to streamline processes, resolve deficiencies, and facilitate timely approvals.
  • Keep up with evolving industry trends and local real estate market changes to offer competitive, up-to-date mortgage solutions.
  • Act as an escalation point for member concerns, delivering proactive solutions and maintaining a high standard of service.
  • Partner with internal mortgage teams and departments to enhance member experiences and achieve better business outcomes.
  • Continuously improve processes, uphold service quality, and contribute to the credit union’s success.
Desired Qualifications
  • Compliance with SAFE Act legislation, which requires annual registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO).
  • Effective relationship management, problem resolution and customer service skills.
  • Strong sales, prospecting and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure issues are handled in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Ability to contribute both independently and as a team member in multi-priority fast paced environment.
  • Excellent time management skills. Ability to adapt to evolving work priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to effectively communicate.
  • Proficient math skills, with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to perform complex income analysis.

(GeekWire Photo / Kevin Lisota)After giving a nod to tech’s bygone era of gadgets and gimmicks, we celebrated the new entrepreneurs shaping the future of innovation in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest on Thursday night at the GeekWire Awards.The annual event, now in its 15th year, brought a sold-out crowd to Showbox SoDo in Seattle, where more than 60 finalists across a dozen categories competed for awards ranging from Startup of the Year to Next Tech Titan to Workplace of the Year, and more.Much like it has been for the past year, artificial intelligence was a recurring buzzword running through the evening, as evidenced by the number of finalists and winners seizing on the technology.“It’s an exciting moment and a transformational time in all our lifetimes because of the way generative AI has taken the industry by storm,” said Deal of the Year winner Madhan Subhas, co-founder of Seattle-area startup Rhythms.Rob McPherson sings his song about bygone tech onstage at the GeekWire Awards in Seattle on Thursday.
