Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5 – 7 years of relevant experience as an electrical engineer, with medium voltage and low voltage power distribution systems
  • Will be a registered engineer with EGBC; an asset if a registered engineer from other parts of Canada or the United States
  • Solid knowledge of industry, as well as Canadian regulatory codes and standards
  • Experience in an engineering design/consultancy environment is preferred; previous experience in an industrial processing (oil and gas, pulp and paper, chemical), electric utility, and/or mining and metals environment is considered an asset
  • Proficiency with instrumentation and control systems in industrial applications
  • Ability to safely and effectively self-manage time, priorities and activities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills, technical competence and attention to detail
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship
Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical engineering design for mineral processing projects and associated infrastructure.
  • Prepare electrical equipment specifications, datasheets, estimates, and scope of work, ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
  • Develop proposals, conceptual designs for Pre-feasibility, Feasibility and Detail engineering phases of projects.
  • Work across a continuous succession of small and large, domestic and international projects as they progress through the project lifecycle - from early concept development, feasibility studies, detailed design, construction, commissioning to operations
  • Liaise with internal and external clients, other discipline professionals, vendors, and stakeholders within the industry to ensure the timely, accurate and cost-effective delivery of projects.
  • Demonstrate high standard of personal safety and safety in design practices.
