- A mechanical contractor license or mechanical journeyman license is required.
- Must pass a background check and drug test.
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent years of experience is required.
- Two years of experience is required.
- Must be able to meet the stated physical requirements, including standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, gripping, keyboard use, and occasional climbing, crawling, kneeling, and related movements.
- For work in Oklahoma, a Boiler Operator license from the Oklahoma Department of Labor and either a Mechanical Contractor or Mechanical Journeyman license from the Oklahoma Construction Industries Board are required.
- Operate, monitor, and adjust facility equipment and power plant machinery according to defined procedures.
- Inspect equipment on a scheduled basis for preventive maintenance programs and maintain records according to policy.
- Repair broken water and steam lines and install new lines.
- Perform water and air balancing to ensure proper distribution according to system design.
- Overhaul and maintain centrifugal, rotor, positive displacement, and multiple-stage feed pumps.
- Overhaul and maintain multiple-stage air compressors and hot water heating systems.
- Clean and repair pneumatic and low-voltage regulating controls, steam pressure control valves, heat exchangers, electrical motors, and vacuum pumps.
- Maintain and upgrade the building automation system and components, including variable air volume units, thermostats, and air handling unit controllers.
- Adjust control strategies as operating conditions change.
- Inspect mechanical equipment throughout the facility and troubleshoot problems when required.
- Perform maintenance welding, occasional silver soldering and brazing, and sweat copper as needed.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform other assigned duties.
