Responsibilities
  • Originate portfolio, secondary-market conventional, Federal Housing Administration, Veterans Affairs, and Rural Development loans in compliance with investor requirements and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Promote bank products and services to existing and potential clients in the community.
  • Provide mortgage advice to potential borrowers.
  • Stay current with bank underwriting policy, investor guidelines, applicable state and federal laws and regulations, and changes in the mortgage industry.
  • Develop and maintain referral networks of bank associates and external sources such as realtors, builders, friends, family, and others in the community.
  • Manage a clean pipeline of loans in process and coordinate daily with processors, underwriters, and closers.
  • Deliver compliance documents and disclosures in a timely manner.
  • Take complete applications and collect required documentation, including income tax returns, bank account information, purchase agreements, and property descriptions, for verification.
  • Prepare borrowers for the process and keep all parties updated on important developments and the application status.
  • Inform applicants of closing costs, including appraisal, credit report, and notary fees.
  • Coordinate closings with borrowers, closing agents, realtors, and others involved in transactions.
  • Interview loan applicants to document income, debt, and credit history.
  • Determine whether applicants meet established standards for further consideration.
  • Answer applicants' questions and obtain signatures on information authorization forms.
  • Submit application forms to the mortgage loan processor for verification of application information.
  • Contact applicants or other persons to resolve discrepancies, such as late-payment history shown on credit reports.
  • Inform applicants whether loans are denied or accepted.
  • Keep bank associates updated on industry changes and work with other lines of business.
  • Maintain current compliance requirements and working knowledge of products and services provided by other lines of business and bank affiliates.
  • Comply with applicable federal, state, and local banking and industry-related laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.

Hancock Whitney up 16.9% YTD on revenue growth and expanding margins

Hancock Whitney Corp. shares have gained 16.9% year to date, outperforming the S&P 500's 11.6% rally and peers Bank OZK and F.N.B. Corp, which rose 5.8% and 6.4% respectively. The company's revenues have grown at a 3.6% compound annual rate from 2020 to 2025, supported by loan growth. Last month, Hancock Whitney closed its acquisition of OFB Bancshares, expanding its presence in Orlando, Jacksonville, and Florida Panhandle. Hancock Whitney gets regulatory approval to acquire One Florida Bank

Hancock Whitney Corporation has received regulatory approval to acquire OFB Bancshares, parent company of One Florida Bank. The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the Mississippi Department of Banking and Consumer Finance have granted approval or confirmed non-objection to the deal. OFB Bancshares shareholders approved the merger agreement at a special meeting. The acquisition, initially announced on 15 May 2026, is expected to close on or about 1 August 2026, pending customary closing conditions. One Florida Bank operates six banking offices across Florida, offering commercial, residential mortgage, and instalment loans alongside deposit accounts. Hancock Whitney maintains financial centres across Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, and Texas.

Hancock Whitney Bank to acquire One Florida Bank. By Dave Kovaleski | May 19, 2026 | Industry The parent company of Hancock Whitney Bank is acquiring One Florida Bank in an all-cash transaction. One Florida Bank, a subsidiary of OFB Bancshares, operates five financial centers in the greater Orlando area and one in the Florida Panhandle. As of March 31, the bank reported total assets of $2.1 billion, total loans of $1.7 billion, and total deposits of $1.9 billion. The acquisition will enhance Gulfport, Miss.-based Hancock Whitney Bank's footprint by establishing a meaningful market presence in the Orlando area. "This transaction represents a significant step in our long-term growth strategy, expanding our footprint into one of the most dynamic and high-growth markets in the country," John Hairston, president and CEO of Hancock Whitney, said. "Orlando offers attractive demographics, strong economic fundamentals, and meaningful opportunities to deepen client relationships. By combining our scale, capital strength, and product capabilities with the local expertise of this talented team, we believe we are well-positioned to deliver enhanced value to our clients, associates, and shareholders alike."
