Requirements
- BA/BS in Accounting
- 6-8 years of accounting experience
- 4 years public accounting experience in an audit capacity
- 5 years of leadership experience
- CPA designation
- Experience as a user with NetSuite, Avalara, Certify and Salesforce
- Strong GAAP knowledge with proven experience with preparation of financial statements
- Experience leading or managing an audit
- Effective communication skills coupled with the ability to prepare and present information and recommendations to a broad audience
- Process improvement/implementation and project management sophistication
Responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger and all of the Company's financial books and records
- Identify, implement, and oversee the execution of necessary financial processes, policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with US GAAP and all applicable tax laws
- Responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP Balance Sheet and Cash Flow financial statements
- Manage the monthly/quarterly and annual financial close process, including ensuring all costs are properly recorded and accrued for, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and financial statements preparation
- Provide daily direction to the accounting staff for the execution of the recurring monthly transaction processing including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts and cash transfers, payroll, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, sales commissions, management bonuses, and any other general accounting functions that are required to accommodate the activities of the Company
- Responsible for hiring and training new team members and growing the team according to the needs of the Company
- Responsible for developing team members and providing professional guidance and coaching to ensure proper succession planning
- Responsible for remaining abreast of emerging accounting literature and developments. Also, responsible for researching and monitoring complex accounting issues that impact the company and for developing an accounting position for the Company
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned based on business need
