Requirements
  • An engineering degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • At least 10 years of experience in manufacturing technology functions is required, ideally in industrial, automotive, or aerospace manufacturing.
  • At least 5 years of fabrication engineering experience and 5 years of welding experience are required.
  • At least 5 years of Lean manufacturing experience is required.
  • Strong experience with large assembly processes, painting, welding, and testing is required.
  • Proficiency in designing fixtures and tooling is required, including experience with SolidWorks.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks for designing and reviewing assembly drawings is required.
  • Ability to design jigs and fixtures for manufacturing processes is required.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control, root cause analysis, and failure mode and effects analysis is required.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S is required.
  • Experience integrating new automation technologies and systems into production environments is required.
  • Familiarity with the Infor enterprise resource planning system is required.
  • Experience developing and optimizing process control plans and testing plans is required.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment is required.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Implement technical improvements and new technologies to increase productivity, product quality, and throughput.
  • Develop and apply sustainable manufacturing practices that minimize environmental impact.
  • Conduct process reviews, identify control points, and implement corrective actions to ensure First-Time Quality and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate the transition of completed projects to the shop floor and ensure smooth handoffs to operations teams.
  • Support new product and process development through collaboration among manufacturing, technical, and quality teams.
  • Create and monitor labor routings, process control plans, and testing plans for new products.
  • Participate in Kaizen and other process improvement initiatives.
  • Update labor routings, process controls, and work instructions to improve productivity, quality, and First-Time Quality.
  • Build welding capability and knowledge at in-house and supplier sites and continuously improve welding process performance.
  • Drive throughput and on-time delivery improvements across manufacturing departments.
  • Develop and monitor new product work cells to optimize workflows and manufacturing performance.
  • Plan and conduct value stream analyses to determine the best sequence of operations and optimize production flow.
  • Support daily triage reporting and provide weekly updates aligned with customer fulfillment and performance goals.
  • Review and sign off on engineering drawings in the product data management system.
  • Coordinate productivity improvements for manufactured parts in alignment with drawing changes.
  • Participate in weekly Engineering Change Review Board meetings.
  • Contribute to plant safety and quality initiatives, including Job Hazard Analyses and First-Time Quality metrics.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Committee to monitor and improve Job Hazard Analysis metrics across work cells.
  • Implement corrective actions addressing quality and safety concerns based on First-Time Quality metrics and employee feedback.
  • Participate in monthly Health and Safety Committee meetings and present actions supporting safety and quality improvement.
  • Collaborate with technical, quality, procurement, and production teams to resolve manufacturing issues, optimize processes, and meet product specifications.
  • Support procurement in sourcing materials and suppliers that meet quality and cost standards.
  • Assist the Quality Department with Corrective Action meetings and Production Part Approval Process documentation.
  • Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives, including cycle-time measurement, bottleneck identification, 5S, Kaizen, and value stream mapping.
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement activities to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Promote Lean principles across the organization and collaborate with the Automated Factory Systems and Services team to integrate Lean practices into automated systems.
  • Maintain a regular presence on the shop floor.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience leading Lean promotion is preferred.
  • Experience working in pump assembly or related fluid systems, machinery, or mechanical products industries is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Infor LN 10.7 is preferred.
