What believers are saying

  • Q2 2026 revenue hit $392.4 million, up 104% year over year.
  • Q3 2026 guidance reaches $540 million-$560 million from Scorpio and PCIe 6 demand.
  • Amazon's February 2026 warrant validates demand for up to $6.5 billion.

What critics are saying

  • Q2 2026 filing says one customer supplied 29% of revenue, crushing pricing power.
  • Revenue still concentrates in China, Singapore, and Taiwan, exposing export-control shocks.
  • TSMC sole foundry plus OSAT dependence creates an existential supply-chain choke point.

What makes Astera Labs unique

  • July 2026 Taurus 3.2T retimers/redrivers use standard footprints for 200G-per-lane Ethernet.
  • August 2026 Scorpio X-Series volume production makes Astera a rack-scale AI fabric supplier.
  • COSMOS software and HyperCast telemetry bind retimers, switches, and modules into one stack.

Jim Cramer flips on Astera Labs, calls AI stock a buy after 40% drop

Jim Cramer has reversed his stance on Astera Labs, telling investors to "buy, buy, buy" the stock during CNBC's "Mad Money" on 29 July. The shift is notable because Cramer previously flagged the semiconductor company as too expensive compared to established chip makers like Broadcom. Astera Labs shares fell more than 40% from an all-time high of $499.48 on 30 June to the mid-$200s in late July, caught in a broader selloff of AI stocks. The decline wasn't driven by business fundamentals — first-quarter revenue rose 93% year over year to $308.4 million. Cramer said the drop reflected market sentiment rather than operational issues. The company reports second-quarter results on 4 August. Astera Labs designs connectivity hardware that moves data between chips in AI data centres.
