Summary

Anaconda is seeking a talented Manager to join our rapidly-growing company and lead the international DevOps team. This is an excellent opportunity for you to leverage your experience and skills and apply it to the world of data science and machine learning.

What You’ll Do:

• Responsible for managing and developing a cross-functional team of ~10 DevOps and Infrastructure Engineers and providing consistent feedback to them
• Responsible for developing and guiding the team to implement appropriate architecture that scales Anaconda’s infrastructure, which is core to the department and company.
• Manage and drive daily engineering operations and activities across and within the DevOps team – ensuring that critical deliverables are tracked and delivered
• Partner with the Agile Coaches and advocate for the Agile/SCRUM/Kanban/Scrumban processes at Anaconda
• Advocate and encourage data-driven decision making within team
• Be a strong partner to the Product Managers, Agile Coaches, Principal Engineers and other key stakeholders to create and deliver company goals
• Establish and measure key performance indicators to manage operational metrics and improve the performance of the engineering team
• Communicate team strategy and vision to the organization
• Consult on a regular basis with leadership to align expectations and deliverables
  

What You Need:

• 8+ years of experience within DevOps, System Engineering, Platform Engineering or a similar function
• 2+ years of experience leading a DevOps/Infrastructure team
• GitOps mindset with a desire to reduce toil and automate everything
• Results-driven, “self-starter” approach to new projects
• Deep Linux system administrator knowledge and experience
• Deep understanding of core AWS services (IAM, EC2, VPC, etc.)
• Experience with IaC tooling (Terraform, Ansible, Packer)
• Solid understanding of different compute architectures and operating systems
• Experience managing complex CI/CD and software release infrastructure

What Will Make You Stand Out:

• Relevant programming experience with Python or Go
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
• Production Kubernetes experience (EKS preferred)
• Familiarity with CNCF ecosystem and its projects
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
• Experience working in a open source or data science-oriented company
