Requirements
  • Preferred Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Quality
  • Minimum of 5+ years in manufacturing quality – ideally in curtainwall, façade, precision fabrication or assembly, or ETO
  • At least 2+ years in leadership/supervisory role
  • Strong Knowledge of mechanical inspection methods, tolerances, and finishes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T

Responsibilities
  • Lead the utilization of quality resources within the plant
  • Ensure Quality Techs are allocated to the appropriate areas within the plant, fabrication, assembly, etc. Ensure their activities in these areas are representative of Harmon's needs
  • Be engaged and motivated to enhance quality procedures - Exhibit positive, desirable behavior that improves the flow of the line.
  • Collaborate with other employees to develop innovative ideas that could improve current processes.
  • Display extreme ownership qualities as a leader in your department.
  • Lead by example - Act like an owner and make decisions based on the greater good of Harmon and our objectives. Be proactive and accountable.
  • Recognize that there is always a part of a project that you can impact in a positive way. Exhibit the behavior you wish your employees to emulate.
  • Train new and current employees - Provide hands-on training to Quality Techs and Quality Leads so they can apply what they have learned into day-to-day tasks. Allow employees to learn at their own pace with reasonable consideration.
  • Actively assist in culture building - Ensure the shop floor is an equitable and inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued and can thrive through trainings, coaching, and overall strategy and practice.
  • Participate in the Culture Committee - Partner with area team leads to help define and create strategies for Harmon’s organizational culture goals, working to make Harmon an employer of choice. Report findings and action plans to Plant Manager.
  • Use quality charting process to aid in prioritizing activities - Review and offer insight into issues that arise from data-based metrics (First Pass Yield, Defect Pareto, Control Charts, etc.) and provide guidance on repetitive or impactful issues requiring action.
  • Generate corrective action requests for customer complaints and repetitive defects - Coordinate and utilize lean tools for repetitive defects and customer complaints (A3, RPS, 8-Step, etc.), investigating and resolving Quality Incident Responses (QIRs) as needed and based on the severity or repetitiveness of incident.
  • Lead and support root cause analysis and corrective actions - Work closely with the team to lead root cause analysis and corrective actions on product defects. Communicate. Lead investigation and corrective action for customer complaints and the resolution process for rapid problem solving (RPS).
  • Standardization through Collaboration - Collaborate with other sites, leadership, and employees to identify best practices
  • Lead site Tier 1 and Tier 2 Quality MDI meetings. Attend Facility MDI meetings, corporate quality meetings, and others as requested.
  • Understand customer and industry requirements for quality and finished product
  • Understand the customer’s specifications for each product type or job and clearly communicate those to the team. Adjust job specific quality plan to adhere to specifications and requirements.
  • Support quality processes related to project launch
  • Identify unique job conditions, wall type changes, etc. Create visual aids, visual work instructions, and storyboards to assist the prevention of problems.
  • Ensure that key processes within the Manufacturing site are followed
  • Manage the site’s layered process audit structure, driving active participation and action from audit results.
  • Suggest and promote improvements to the quality system - Develop and redefine best practices that provide the most effective flow for the project to run with high quality. Incorporate input from the team to ensure the most valuable ideas are being utilized.
  • Continuously review quality tests and standards for enhancements to current procedures - Create reports for quality control tests and analyze the data to determine if any changes in the production process are necessary. Develop and implement quality improvement activities and policies.
  • Manage quality metrics and associated goals - Monitor and manage non-conformance, rework, and related quality metrics. Steer site actions to achieve site quality targets.
  • Interact with project consultants during inspection visits
  • Manage equipment calibration - Ensure calibration, verification, and proper maintenance of inspection and testing equipment.
  • Participate in and drive company continuous improvement - Participate and drive our continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities for streamlining work and reducing cost and waste. Participate in and drive the kaizen (structured problem solving) process. Motivate employees to participate in improving their workplace both physically and financially.

Apogee posts weakest Q4 among commercial building products stocks with $348.6M revenue miss

Apogee, which designs architectural products including high-performance glass for commercial buildings, reported Q4 revenues of $348.6 million, up 2.1% year on year but missing analysts' expectations by 1.9%. The company delivered the weakest performance against analyst estimates among commercial building products stocks tracked. Full-year earnings per share guidance also missed expectations significantly. Chief executive Donald Nolan acknowledged the challenging environment whilst highlighting the company's operational foundation and balance sheet strength. The five commercial building products stocks tracked reported a satisfactory Q4 overall, with revenues beating consensus estimates by 1.2%. However, the sector has declined collectively, with average share prices down 1.6% since latest earnings. Apogee's stock fell 7.3% following its results and currently trades at $34.56.

Apogee Enterprises announced that Mark Augdahl has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. Augdahl has served as the Company's Interim CFO since January 7, 2026.
