Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field, or five years of related experience in lieu of the degree.
  • At least three years of experience in networking systems, computer repair, network operations, data processing, or production scheduling software.
  • Basic server administration in Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Basic virtualized infrastructure knowledge.
  • Basic network administration, including subnetting.
  • Basic data center infrastructure knowledge.
  • Ability to build and use technical diagrams.
  • Ability to run and interpret packet captures.
  • Ability to write low-code and/or no-code scripts to resolve monitoring events.
  • Ability to use the ITIL framework, including service design, incident, change, event, and problem practices.
  • Knowledge of production scheduling software such as JCL, CA7, and AppWorx.
  • Knowledge of Domain Name System and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol.
  • Monitoring application administration skills.
  • Systems documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and TCP/IP.
  • Knowledge of SAFe and Agile practices.
  • Network, virtualization, operating systems, or other related certifications are preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Adhere to change enablement practices and policies, including participating in the enterprise Change Advisory Board.
  • Assist with workload preparation and setup, and perform reruns for JCL errors, hardware malfunctions, bad input data, and job preparation errors.
  • Complete assigned incidents, requested items, stories, problems, job abends, and other tickets on time or notify leadership when necessary.
  • Conduct problem management practices, including serving as problem record owner and facilitating problem tasks for continual improvement.
  • Configure monitoring tools to improve mean time to detect and resolve issues with application and technical owners.
  • Define and document the enterprise monitoring service, including vendor contacts, budgeting, lifecycle management, integrations, and roadmap execution.
  • Engage vendors and groups outside of Infrastructure and Operations, including Facilities, Physical Security, and telecommunications providers, to keep circuits operational.
  • Update runbooks, the configuration management database, and business rules in ServiceNow.
  • Ensure online network availability meets standards and nightly batch processing is completed on time.
  • Follow security policies, procedures, and enterprise data-processing standards, including vulnerability, change, configuration, and findings management.
  • Initiate event, incident, and major incident processes to maintain availability of member- and provider-facing services.
  • Monitor enterprise business services, applications, technical services, communication lines, and mainframe health and performance, including managing AppWorx queues.
  • Participate in the documented on-call rotation.
  • Take corrective and continual-improvement actions when defects or improvement opportunities are identified in records, practices, processes, or monitoring operations.
