Requirements
  • Ability to work in a factory Union/Non-Union environment and travel 50% or more of the time depending on the need
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Process Safety Management or experience in PSM-covered processes including Process Hazard Analyses and Level of Protection Analysis risk assessment, Management of Change and Permit to Start Safety System operations, Heat and Material Balances, and Safety Instrumented Functions
  • Innovate processes improvements in yield, energy usage, quality, and capacity improvements using tools such as plant data historians, Aspen simulation tools, and SAP
  • Develop process design bases for plant capital projects including Pre-Front End Engineering Design and Front End Engineering Design studies
  • Collaborate with Process Technology to develop commercial designs from scale-up studies
  • Provide technical support to plants for high impact issues
  • Benchmark and measure product line Key Performance Indicators across global sites and implement best practices to drive improvements
  • Experienced with distributed control systems and safety instrumented systems
  • Knowledgeable of standards such as API, ASME, NFPA
Responsibilities
  • Drive Excellence in Process Safety by providing technical assistance with Process Hazard Analyses and Level of Protection Analyses, corrective and preventive actions, specify Safety Instrumented Function requirements
  • Initiate and execute Management of Change for process improvements and capital projects as needed
  • Develop Heat and Material Balances, PSV calculation bases, capital project process design bases, and process control functional specification narratives for new processes and collaborate with production to address gaps in current Process Safety Information
  • Provide technical support to ensure root causes are correctly identified during incident investigations
  • Identify, evaluate, and execute medium-term initiatives to drive improvements in yield, energy usage, capacity, and quality
  • Partner with production and maintenance to ensure solutions are sustainable and share best practices globally
  • Lead or support plant trials for process improvements and to mitigate business, quality, safety, and production risks
  • Develop process design bases for capital projects and lead feasibility studies for potential new initiatives
  • Ensure technically sound detailed process engineering design is delivered to project team, including external engineering work
  • Participate on commissioning and startup teams as needed
  • Coordinate with process technology to ensure successful implementation of new product and process technologies
  • Develop strategic plans for process engineering technology development for your technology group
  • Create development plans for subject matter experts within technology group
  • Supervise department process engineers and coordinate work within region/technology group
  • Develop big picture step change improvements of strategic plant assets and strategic options for asset/product line footprints
  • Provide technical production support and mentoring to production engineers

The transaction, supported by lenders and equity partners, includes amendments to the company's revolving credit facility to enhance financial flexibility. A new institutional ownership group has invested $150 million in junior capital, demonstrating confidence in SI Group's prospects. The Woodlands, Texas-based company will use the investment to fund working capital needs, operational initiatives and growth acceleration.
