Iliad Group reports "solid performance" in H1.

Iliad Group reports "solid performance" in H1. August 27, 2026 The Iliad Group has posted what it describes as "a solid commercial performance" in the first half of 2026 in France, Italy and Poland. Consolidated profit for H1 reached €502 million, and Mobile and Fixed subscriber bases continue to grow in each country. In France, Free recorded a solid sales performance on mobile in the first half of the year. Fixed and mobile NPSs reach their all-time highs, putting Free at the forefront of customer satisfaction among major historical brands. The subscriber mix continues to improve, with a Fiber adoption rate above 90 per cent for the first time and that of 4G/5G reaches more than 78 per cent. This dynamic contributes to reducing the rates of churn both on fixed and mobile. In Italy, iliad Italia continues to perform well in business despite the commercial aggressiveness of the competitors. In May 2026, the NPS Mobile (63) and Fixe (52) reached the highest historical and strengthened its status in satisfaction among major brands. In Poland, Play maintains the course of its balanced business strategy between volume and value in a competitive market, focusing in particular on Fixed-Mobile convergence. Play maintains its 2nd position in terms of subscribed satisfaction on Mobile and the improvement of the quality of services on the High and Very High Speed has helped to significantly reduce the rate of churn in this segment. With total revenue and organic growth services of 3.4 per cent in the first half of 2026, the iliad Group said it "confirms its position as a leader in revenue growth among major European telecoms groups". France recorded an organic growth in its revenue services of 1.5 per cent over the six months, driven in particular by the growth in the turnover of convergent subscribers and B2B activities. In the first half of the year, the Group is the leader in the organic growth of its turnover Services among the four major operators. Poland recorded an organic growth in its turnover services of 5.4 per cent. In Italy, iliad Italia has strengthened its growth leadership position in this market with a growth of 10.1 per cent of its turnover services. Initiatives and digital ambition In France, the quality of Free's network is confirmed by Opensignal, which places Free #1 in Europe on 5G+ quality (5G SA), with a score of 94 per cent on the quality of service indicator and an improvement in latency of 32 per cent compared to 5G NSA - the strongest increase among European operators evaluated. Since the beginning of the year, the Group has continued to expand its range of offers with Free Max, the first unlimited mobile plan in France and in 140 destinations worldwide, as well as the Mobile Large Fleets Packages of the B2B Free Pro branch. The Group also continues to enrich the services offered to its subscribers, Free having become the first operator in France to offer YouTube Premium at an advantageous rate to its mobile and fixed subscribers. Scaleway, the Group's cloud and AI subsidiary, enjoys a very good commercial dynamic. In particular, it has won a major contract with Airbus on the "European trusted cloud". It has also been selected as the future host of the Health Data Platform (HDP) and selected by the European Commission to provide a sovereign public cloud platform. Scaleway has also entered into partnerships with several major European organisations - including MAIF, Ouest-France and ChapsVision. In Italy, iliad has enriched its offerings with the launch of the Mondo package and the 5G Box Casa, a 5G high-speed home internet solution, installable without technical intervention, available in areas not yet covered by fibre. In Poland, Play continued its upmarket strategy with new offerings for individuals and businesses. The operator extends the coverage of its High and Very High Speed offers via PŚO, whose network reaches more than 5.2 million households in 138 departments. Play has published a study confirming the impact of fibre on development local economics and quality of life in the peri-urban territories in Poland. A solid economic performance In the first half of 2026, thanks to the good commercial momentum of the three geographies, the continuous efforts to control costs and the standardisation of the investment effort, the Group's OFCF is growing by more than 10 per cent, each country contributing to growth. In Italy, the OFCF grew by 75 per cent and reached €106 million (+€45 million compared to the first half of 2025), growth reached 6.4 per cent in France (+€43 million) and 7.1 per cent in Poland (+€30 million). Adjusted net income in the first half of the year increased by +39.5 per cent to €326 million. The Group's generation of EFCFs amounted in the first half of 2026 to 661 million euros. It is up +32 per cent (+159 million euros) thanks to the growth of the OFCF but also to a decrease in frequency-related disbursements. The Group now anticipates an EFCF 2026 of more than €1 billion. "For the fifth consecutive year, the Iliad Group is the leader in growth among the major European operators. It is neither the fruit of chance nor a cycle effect. This performance is based on an essential asset: the trust of our subscribers, at record levels, and on a financial solidity that allows us to invest in the digital infrastructures of tomorrow: networks, cloud, data centers and AI. The project to acquire SFR's assets can allow us to change scales while growing the Free model, for the benefit of consumers. Building on this dynamic, we are raising our ambition and are now aiming for an EFCF of more than €1 billion in 2026," commented Thomas Reynaud, Managing Director of the Iliad Group.

European cloud cover for Qvest, Ateme and Scaleway sovereign OTT platforms.

European cloud cover for Qvest, Ateme and Scaleway sovereign OTT platforms. The solution meets the needs of the EU's CSF and SEAL sovereignty model, providing users with a facility to launch new streaming services, migrate existing platforms to European cloud providers or select a managed services option Published: July 24, 2026 Ateme, Qvest and Scaleway have announced a collaboration to provide production-ready sovereign OTT platforms built entirely on European technology. Combining Scaleway's sovereign cloud infrastructure with Ateme's video solutions and Qvest's systems integration, consultancy and managed services expertise, the solution aims to provide media organisations with enhanced control over their OTT platforms, data and technology strategies. Designed to meet the needs of broadcasters facing increasing regulatory requirements and pressure to reduce dependency on non-European cloud providers, the solution provides all the components needed to build and operate a sovereign OTT platform from ingest, encoding, and packaging to content delivery, DRM, analytics, and frontend integration. Users are able to launch new streaming services, migrate existing environments or rely on Qvest's managed services, said the companies. The partnership aligns with the European Union's Cloud Sovereignty Framework (CSF) and its SEAL sovereignty model. Each platform is tailored by Qvest to meet the specific needs of respective tenders, aiming to achieve the highest practical level of technical sovereignty. Tobias Künkel, MD at Qvest Engage, a subsidiary of Qvest Group, said, "The growing awareness and demand around digital sovereignty has moved beyond strategy. Now, broadcasters need solutions that can be implemented. Together with Ateme and Scaleway, we are bringing production-ready sovereign OTT platforms to broadcasters that combine operational maturity with European sovereignty." "Digital sovereignty is becoming a strategic priority for broadcasters across Europe," said Rémi Beaudouin, chief strategy officer at Ateme. "The combination of Ateme's proven video technology, Scaleway's European cloud infrastructure and Qvest's integration expertise gives media organisations a practical path to modernise their OTT platforms while maintaining greater control over their infrastructure, operations and data." "Europe has all the capabilities required to support the next generation of streaming services. The real challenge is bringing them together in a way that broadcasters can adopt with confidence. This OTT platform turns strategic autonomy into a practical choice by combining proven European cloud and streaming technologies within a complete operational environment. It gives media organisations greater control over their infrastructure and long-term technology decisions," added Damien Lucas, CEO of Scaleway.

Qvest, Ateme and Scaleway deliver sovereign OTT platforms for European broadcasters.

Qvest, Ateme and Scaleway deliver sovereign OTT platforms for European broadcasters. 24/07/2026 Qvest, Ateme, and Scaleway have partnered to offer broadcasters, media organizations, and sports rights holders sovereign OTT platforms built on European technology. The joint solution combines Scaleway's cloud infrastructure, Ateme's video technology, and Qvest's consultancy, systems integration, and managed services. As broadcasters across Europe face increasing regulatory requirements and pressure to reduce dependency on non-European cloud providers, the three companies say their partnership offers a ready-to-implement solution. The offering covers the components required to build and operate a sovereign OTT platform, from ingest, encoding, and packaging to content delivery, DRM, analytics, and frontend integration. Broadcasters can use the solution to launch new streaming services, migrate existing environments, or engage Qvest as a managed service partner. Each partner contributes a distinct area of expertise: Scaleway provides European cloud infrastructure; Ateme provides live encoding, packaging, origin, CDN, and server-side ad insertion; and Qvest designs the architecture, integrates third-party components such as DRM, players, and analytics, and can operate the platform as a managed service. The collaboration is aligned with the European Union's Cloud Sovereignty Framework (CSF) and its SEAL sovereignty model, which are used as a reference for scoring sovereignty in public procurement. Qvest designs each platform to meet the specific requirements of individual tenders rather than making absolute sovereignty claims. The growing awareness and demand around digital sovereignty has moved beyond strategy, said Tobias K nkel, Managing Director at Qvest Engage, a subsidiary of Qvest Group. Now, broadcasters need solutions that can be implemented. Together with Ateme and Scaleway, we are bringing production-ready sovereign OTT platforms to broadcasters that combine operational maturity with European sovereignty. Digital sovereignty is becoming a strategic priority for broadcasters across Europe, said R mi Beaudouin, Chief Strategy Officer at Ateme. It gives media organizations greater control over their infrastructure and long-term technology decisions, said Damien Lucas, CEO of Scaleway. HbbTV opens entries for 2026 awards ahead of Barcelona Symposium.

HbbTV opens entries for 2026 awards ahead of Barcelona Symposium. The HbbTV Association has begun accepting entries for the HbbTV Awards 2026, inviting providers of HbbTV applications, services, technologies and solutions to put forward their best work. This year's competition will be staged during the 14th HbbTV Symposium and Awards on 18-19 November 2026 in Barcelona, Spain, co-hosted by the HbbTV Association and 3Cat, Catalonia's public media corporation. The event will take place at the Catalonia Barcelona Plaza Hotel and bring together leaders from across the connected TV ecosystem. The awards ceremony is scheduled for the evening of 18 November, the opening day of the conference. Submissions are free and can be made via the online form at forms.gle/rLrfLJH1P5dgSPwY7, which also provides further information for entrants. Reflecting current market trends, the HbbTV Association has refreshed its categories for 2026, introducing Excellence in HbbTV Audience Measurement & Analytics to acknowledge the growing role of HbbTV-powered audience insights, improved measurement accuracy and advanced analytics. The topic also features in this year's Symposium conference programme and aligns with the recently formed HbbTV Audience Measurement Application Interest Group: www.hbbtv.org/news-events/hbbtv-launches-audience-measurement-group-to-accelerate-innovation-across-the-tv-ecosystem/. - Excellence in HbbTV Audience Measurement & Analytics - Outstanding HbbTV Advertising Campaign - HbbTV Application Innovation Award - HbbTV Enabling Technology Award - HbbTV Rising Star Award Companies may submit multiple entries but only across a maximum of two categories, with a separate form required for each submission. An independent jury of industry experts will evaluate entries against criteria such as innovation, technical merit, execution, impact and overall contribution to the HbbTV ecosystem. The HbbTV Rising Star Award, formerly the "HbbTV Newcomer of the Year" Judges' Award, is now a standard category. Organisations can nominate themselves or third parties, including customers, partners or suppliers. The award recognises companies that are relatively new to HbbTV and have demonstrated exceptional innovation, technical excellence, market impact or a strong commitment to ecosystem growth. The deadline for entries is 18 September 2026. A shortlist of finalists will be selected for review by the expert panel, which will choose the winners. "The HbbTV Awards have become an important platform for recognising innovation and excellence across the connected TV ecosystem. The updated categories reflect the evolution of the market, including the growing importance of audience measurement, advanced advertising, innovative applications and the technologies enabling new services. I encourage all companies developing HbbTV-based solutions to submit their achievements and compete for recognition at the HbbTV Symposium and Awards in Barcelona," said Vincent Grivet, Chair of the HbbTV Association. Examples of innovative HbbTV applications, including past entries, finalists and winners, can be explored in the HbbTV Application Showcase: developer.hbbtv.org/showcase_app/. At the HbbTV Awards 2025 in Istanbul, winners included 3Cat, TVekstra, Everyone TV and BCi Digital for achievements spanning accessibility, advertising, technology innovation, content discovery and HbbTV service delivery. Airbus picks Iliad's Scaleway for AI, defence work in sovereignty push.

Airbus picks Iliad's Scaleway for AI, defence work in sovereignty push. 16 Jul 2026 01:01PM Add CNA as a trusted source to help Google better understand and surface our content in search results. July 16: Airbus said on Thursday it had signed a multi-year agreement with Iliad-owned Scaleway to provide cloud infrastructure for sensitive industrial and defence applications, supporting the deployment of AI tools developed with French startup Mistral. The European planemaker said Scaleway would host critical applications spanning aircraft design, engineering, industrial production and corporate operations. Airbus signed a partnership with Mistral in May to co-develop customised AI tools for aerospace and defence. "The fact that the Mistral models are already deployed on Scaleway infrastructure will allow us to accelerate our AI approach," Airbus Chief Digital Officer Catherine Jestin told reporters. Airbus plans to use Mistral's technology for military applications and certified aviation systems, areas where the company wants European partners to handle intellectual property, research and development, and sensitive data. DIGITAL SOVEREIGNTY Jestin said Airbus selected Scaleway after assessing more than 150 technical and legal requirements. "The second set of criteria concerned legal requirements, in particular the much-discussed protection against the kill switch and against the application of extraterritorial laws," she said. European governments and companies have increasingly focused on digital sovereignty as AI becomes embedded in critical infrastructure, defence and industrial operations. The European Commission last month proposed a Cloud and AI Development Act aimed at expanding domestic cloud and computing capacity. Airbus will migrate around 70 critical applications to Scaleway by the end of 2028, with the broader programme potentially covering up to 900 applications over the next five to six years. Airbus did not disclose the value of the agreement.
