  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or equivalent certification required
  • 7+ years of accounting with a focus in technical accounting within a public accounting firm and a large corporate environment
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP covering variety of topics, including share-based compensation (ASC 718)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret and apply accounting standards to complex real-world scenarios
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Experience with internal controls including preparation of supporting information and coordination with external auditors
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting
Responsibilities
  • Research accounting guidance and prepare technical accounting memos, white papers, related calculations and journal entries to support the company's reporting position
  • Perform financial analysis to support decision-making related to technical accounting matters
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and other applicable financial reporting standards
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on various accounting topics
  • Become an expert in your areas of responsibility (primarily share-based compensation).. Take end-to-end ownership of all aspects of your projects
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual reports (10-Q, 10-K), other SEC filings and earning release materials
  • Perform internal controls applicable to your areas of responsibility. Regularly review and update internal controls to ensure appropriate scope and compliance
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with external auditors
  • Interact effectively across various functional teams within Twilio (finance, tax, legal, business units) to provide support on various projects
  • Perform effectively in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
