Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree (B.S. or B.A.) in a technical or business field; or equivalent work-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Eight (8) years of Business Intelligence application development and report writing in a health care environment
  • Two (2) years experience and demonstrated aptitude in Meditech Report Designer and NPR report development
  • Extensive experience with hospital EMR systems
  • Experience with development in Information Builder’s WebFOCUS, Athena or other computer-based business intelligence systems
  • Working knowledge of Health EMRs such as Meditech and Athena and related reporting applications that support them
  • Working knowledge of Database Management Systems, including both legacy DBMS’s and relational/SQL DBMS’s
  • Exposure to SQL extract, transform, and load (ETL) Technology
  • Exposure to Business Intelligence GUI tools or other front-end technology
  • Demonstrated proficiency in multiple operating systems and programming languages
  • Thorough understanding of applicable security standards and the ability to apply them in a large, multi-departmental environment containing a large volume of users
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
  • Develop business intelligence reports and analysis utilizing different applications within the Corporate Finance department
  • Support and maintain the hospital’s EMR data repository
  • Lead small to large-size projects, supervising and advising less experienced report developers
  • Provide analysis, design and support services using WebFOCUS based on business requirements
  • Specific tasks include application maintenance, application development, application deployment, and problem resolution
  • Maintain the Hospital’s EMR data repository
  • Recognize and help exploit business opportunities and pass the appropriate information to management
