Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy with a minimum of a BS in Pharmacy with a PharmD preferred
  • Kentucky Pharmacist Registration or eligible
  • Hospital experience and completion of an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Residency preferred
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
Responsibilities
  • Interprets, profiles, and dispenses medication orders
  • Supervisions production of compounded products
  • Maintains knowledge of local, state and federal regulations regarding pharmacy practice as well as Joint Commission standards
  • Supervises department or assigned work area operations in absence of Manager or Director including scheduling appropriate staff coverage when personnel call in sick
  • Initiates, documents, and participates in department activities that promote positive patient outcomes
  • Assists in orientation and training of pharmacists, technicians, students and residents
  • Handles patient/staff complaints
  • Monitors and coordinates workflow of medication preparation and delivery
