Requirements
  • Equivalent technical training and related experience will be considered.

  • Ability to proactively identify potential problems and their solutions.
  • Routine driving to project sites is required.
  • Physical demands include walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, lifting, sitting, standing, keyboard use, and computer monitor use.
  • Light travel may be required.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in conceptually finishing the design on incomplete design documents.
  • Review and evaluate project design documents for cost and schedule impacts.
  • Support the Preconstruction Manager on design-assist and design-build projects regarding scope control, schedule impact, and coordination.
  • Serve as a resource for Project Managers and field personnel on design issues.
  • Assist with electrical and general coordination of design-assist and design-build projects.
  • Assist with generating budget estimates and defining scope with incomplete design information.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a preliminary estimating method, format, and process.
  • Update preliminary estimates until the final design is complete.
  • Update and maintain a database of estimating information from past projects.
  • Manage small project budgeting with support from a Project Manager as needed, including leading Pricing Review and Kick-off meetings with Operations, Estimating, and VC.
  • Use the USEC Pricing/Bid Sheet.
  • Provide relevant information to the Operations Team to assist in maintaining the project schedule until preconstruction ends.
  • Assist the Project Manager with updates for equipment and material lead times.
  • Develop and foster effective peer-to-peer relationships with clients.
  • Support the request for proposal process during development and interview preparation.
  • Develop and foster effective relationships with internal clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Attend industry learning opportunities, including internal and external educational presentations and trade-related events.
  • Participate in USEC extracurricular activities, committees, and philanthropy.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Science/Management, or Architectural Engineering.
  • Preferred 1 to 5 years of technical or administrative experience in HVAC, piping, and plumbing at a commercial, industrial, or institutional level.
