Summary:
The Compensation & Benefits Analyst supports the development, implementation, and administration of the company’s total rewards programs, and provides specialized total rewards expertise. Works closely with HR colleagues, external vendors, and business leaders to ensure that total rewards programs are competitive, effective, and aligned with the company’s compensation philosophy.
Responsibilities:
- Administers processes in the employee life cycle related to new hire onboarding, compensation (including incentives), benefits and retirement.
- Determines employee benefit practices by benchmarking best practices; researching industry and employment trends; tracking legislation and estimating impact.
- Determines employee benefit interests by conducting employee surveys; forming focus groups; analyzing responses.
- Recommends employee benefit programs by examining, evaluating, and optimizing employee understanding, acceptance, and interests, costs, regulatory requirements, and competitive advantage.
- Explains employee benefits by conducting meetings; preparing written and graphic announcements and explanations; responding to requests.
- Administers leave of absence and resolves benefits claims related to disability, parental leave, etc.
- Work with external vendors, including consultants and third-party administrators, to gather data and understand benefit plan dynamics.
- Responsible for research and feedback to escalated customer service issues with third party administrators.
- Maintains employee confidence by keeping benefit information confidential.
- Conduct compensation data analysis utilizing both internal and external sources highlighting conclusions for the broader total rewards team to make informed decisions.
- Assists with compensation analytics, merit cycles and incentive reporting.
- Educates HR staff, managers and employees on compensation and employee benefits planning and processes.
- Proactively provides guidance and training to HR team members, managers, and employees on new HRIS processes and tools.
- Defines, communicates, and delivers reporting and analytics to help solve business issues. Analyzes, assesses and interprets HR data to inform HR Leadership and the Finance team of trends.
- Analyzes data to create high level and detailed reports of human capital information including compensation, turnover, and organization changes.
- Analyzes and maintains employee demographic and assignment data in the HRIS system to ensure data integrity.
- Review and process salary adjustments, promotions, and other compensation related changes in compliance with company policies.
- Conduct audits to ensure compensation practices and job descriptions remain competitive, equitable, and legal.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or related field preferred
- 3-5 years of HR analyst experience with HRIS, compensation, and benefits responsibilities.
- Advanced knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws, EDI feeds and resolving errors.
- Advanced knowledge of compensation and benefits including FLSA.
- Advanced knowledge of HRIS workflows, permissions, and processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
- Excellent Microsoft Suite skills
