Requirements
  • High School diploma or General Education Development equivalent.
  • Completion of a Medical Assisting training program from an accredited college.
  • Valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in modern office practices and procedures, including email and intermediate computer skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and push up to 50 pounds on wheels.
  • High manual dexterity and the physical ability to reach above shoulder level, bend, squat, sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, kneel, and twist or turn.
  • Ability to read memos, computer screens, personnel forms, and clinical or administrative documents.
  • Ability to hear staff on the phone and in-person, and speak clearly to communicate information to patients and staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with effective follow-through.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Knowledge of general training techniques and adult learning principles.
Responsibilities
  • Provide medical support to promote smooth patient flow, including collecting and recording data accurately.
  • Maintain the order of examination rooms, equipment, and supplies.
  • Provide basic education and information to patients to answer questions and alleviate anxieties.
  • Interface with community-oriented activities and staff to support healthcare access.
  • Communicate consistently with the Nursing Supervisor and clinic staff.
  • Work flexible or extended hours as necessary to meet clinic needs.
  • Participate in health center meetings and in-service training sessions.
  • Adhere to all rules of confidentiality and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act regulations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Two years of experience in a healthcare setting.
