Requirements
  • Must have attended training as a nurse assistant in a formal course.
  • Must have satisfactorily completed a Licensed Nursing Assistant certification program in the State of New Hampshire.
  • Must be licensed in the State of New Hampshire.
  • Must be able to remain on their feet for extended periods and perform walking, bending, kneeling, and twisting for 4–6 hours per day.
  • Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must use motor coordination of the arms, legs, hands, wrists, and fingers regularly.
Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care under supervision as assigned.
  • Serve meals, feed patients who require assistance, and assist patients in the dining room.
  • Provide fluids and nourishment for residents.
  • Maintain a safe, attractive, and comfortable resident environment, including cleanliness, ventilation, lighting, repairs, and furniture arrangement.
  • Answer residents' calls for assistance promptly.
  • Report immediately to the supervising nurse when a resident complains, has a change in condition, or has other special needs.
  • Provide special services for residents who do not require professional skills.
  • Perform specific functions taught by professional personnel in accordance with community policies.
  • Carry out housekeeping functions on the unit that are not assigned to the Housekeeping Department.
  • Carry out technical duties and procedures when assigned after satisfactorily completing the applicable in-service program.
  • Maintain good relationships with residents, their families and friends, and the public.
  • Transport residents as required.
  • Assume other duties assigned by the Charge Nurse.
  • Assume responsibility for personal safety and the safety of the immediate work environment.
  • Attend annual in-service programs concerning body mechanics, right-to-know laws, and fire and safety procedures.
