Embedded Software Engineer @ Syntronic

Are you ready to be part of a leading global engineering design house specializing in the design and development of embedded software/hardware, electronics, and electro-mechanics?

This is a key development position for our customer’s optical line modules. You will be working on the industry’s most advanced DWDM transport products, which are powered by our customer’s cutting-edge PIC technology, sophisticated optics and world-class Coherent DSP ASICs.

This position requires 6+ years of software development experience with an emphasis on Linux kernel configurations and optimizations, excellent embedded C/C++ coding skills, and a good understanding of multi-threaded embedded system design.

What you’ll do

Code design, implementation and testing for next generation of Optical Engine used for Long Haul, Metro and Data Center Interconnects
Update and configure Linux kernel, including:
Interrupts
Device drivers
Memory
CPU adaptations
BSP development for ARM-based platforms
Requirement and design documentation
Debug and fix customer issues

What you’ll need to get the job done

BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 6+ years of development experience utilizing Linux in multi-threaded real time environment
Great C/C++ programming skills
Experience in platform bring-up and debug, including boot loader coding (uboot)
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills are critical to this position
Experience with software version control (Like Perforce, GIT) and bug tracking systems are required
