Securitize Markets is seeking a highly experienced US Equities trader, as a Proprietary Trader, to spearhead the expansion of its digital equities trading operations. The successful candidate will take on several key responsibilities, including:

• Developing a proprietary trading desk focused on increasing liquidity for digital securities trading on the company’s ATS.
• Leveraging a robust network of US equity market makers and prop trading firms to bring additional liquidity providers onto the ATS.
• Creating a strategic roadmap for the firm to become a market maker in digital asset securities, and working closely with the Product and Engineering teams to ensure that the necessary features and functionality are in place to support this goal.

In this role, you will be responsible for executing trades on behalf of the firm using your expertise in prop trading, market making, and your knowledge of financial markets. You will work closely with our partners to identify trading opportunities and develop strategies to maximize adding liquidity to the ATS while managing the profit and loss of the prop trading desk.  The overall objective is to add liquidity to the Securitize Markets ATS.

Key Areas of focus & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for completing tasks on time and to a high quality while managing multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Management of a portfolio digital asset securities 
  • Adding new third party ATS subscribers including prop traders and market makers 
  • Use critical thinking & analytical skills to analyze complex data sets and make decisions
  • Troubleshooting trading strategy challenges and third party integrations.
  • Implementation of trading strategy optimizations
  • Working across multiple technology platforms to create trading strategies, and generate internal and external reporting
• Project/Product management including focus on contributing to projects, organizing stakeholders and managing multiple milestones.
  • Partnering with the other members of the trading team  to enhance internal tools & processes.
  • Feedback & test new Trading products to help drive future enhancements

• Building relationships with internal stakeholders and working across differences to find solutions.
  • Collaboration with Product and Engineering teams to build out new features and functionality to support prop and market maker trading
  • Close coordination with Compliance, Legal, and Operations teams when building out new products and services.

• Clear and crisp communication with external partners/clients and internal stakeholders; ability to flex communication style to persuade others and influence positive outcomes.
  • Explain strategy & optimizations to internal & external partners
  • Articulation of MiQ’s trading technology and expertise to external partners and clients
• Business Development responsibilities including adding new ATS subscribers such as prop traders, broker-dealers, market makers, or asset managers.
  • Leverage personal network to add additional third party liquidity providers to the ATS
• Adoption of innovative approaches and solutions to meet new or existing market requirements.
  • Open to receiving and trying new ideas, processes or ways of working.
  • Trading innovation is essential in the DeFi space.  This person will partner with Product and Engineering to create novel features, functionalities, and operational processes.
  • Using third party and proprietary technology to create bespoke trading strategies and custom algorithms

Required Qualifications:

• Must have FINRA Series 57 or 55 (must have)
• 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
  • US equities market making 
  • Quantitative trading
  • Proprietary trading
  • Asset management
• Strong analytical skills are essential
• Experience working with large datasets in Excel and other data management tools
• Familiarity with quantitative and fundamental trading models
• Bonus experience: 1+ years of experience running programmatic campaigns
