Requirements
  • One year of progressive experience in orientation, onboarding, learning and development, talent management, human resources, workforce development, program management, or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience coordinating complex schedules, logistics, and operational workflows.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence outcomes without relying solely on formal authority.
  • A service-oriented mindset and genuine interest in helping people succeed.
Responsibilities
  • Lead Interstates’ enterprise orientation program for professional, craft, and manufacturing team members.
  • Coordinate the experience from offer acceptance through initial technical or craft training and transition into an assigned role.
  • Plan and manage schedules, presenters, instructors, facilities, technology, materials, communications, travel, and learning activities.
  • Facilitate orientation sessions and help new team members understand Interstates’ culture, values, safety expectations, and business operations.
  • Create a consistent experience while keeping each interaction personal and welcoming.
  • Monitor progress and proactively resolve issues that could affect the new team member experience.
  • Ensure smooth handoffs into assigned teams, field roles, or shop positions.
  • Serve as the central point of coordination for Recruiting, Human Resources, Workforce Planning, Instructors, Information Technology, Safety, Payroll, Hiring Leaders, and other partners.
  • Bring people together, communicate clearly, manage competing priorities, and influence outcomes across functions.
  • Track completion, participant satisfaction, early retention, time to productivity, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Gather input from new team members, leaders, instructors, and business partners.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and recommendations showing what is working and where improvements are needed.
  • Build scalable workflows, resources, and standard operating procedures.
  • Evaluate orientation technologies, systems, and processes and recommend improvements.
  • Balance efficiency and operational needs with a high-quality new team member experience.
  • Oversee travel, lodging, transportation, scheduling, and other orientation and training logistics.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and last-minute changes.
  • Ensure logistics are accurate, efficient, and service-focused.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and direction for orientation support team members, including one direct report.
  • Establish priorities, assign work, and monitor progress.
