- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Complete a Medical Corpsman program and have one year of applicable experience; or complete an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, or Licensed Paramedic course or program and have one year of applicable experience; or complete Emergency Medical Technician-Basic training and have at least one year of emergency room technician or equivalent hospital experience in eligible markets; or complete the first year of education and be currently enrolled in an accredited School of Nursing with one year of applicable experience; or have at least two years of emergency room technician experience; or have at least three years of Certified Nursing Assistant experience with relevant hospital experience in Wisconsin; or have at least three years of Certified Anesthesia Technician or Operating Room Technician experience in Wisconsin.
- Hold current Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Hold current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support or Advanced Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross where required by the applicable market.
- The position requires fluency in English for written and oral communication.
- Pennsylvania candidates must have Act 33 Child Abuse History Clearance and Act 73 Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance completed within the last five years, or obtain them before the start date.
- Collect, report, and document clinical data, including vital signs, height and weight, intake and output, pulse oximetry, and specimens.
- Collect laboratory samples and perform laboratory testing in accordance with established policies and procedures and COLA and CLIA regulations.
- Assist with patient activities and care as assigned by the charge nurse or designee and indicated by the patient's plan of care.
- Provide superficial wound care.
- Provide patient safety measures appropriate to the patient's age and condition.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and perform or assist with aseptic technique, isolation procedures, and infection control measures.
- Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge.
- Prepare patients and chaperone during examinations and procedures or assist with other patient treatments.
- Maintain patient-care areas with appropriate supplies.
- Assist with patient restraints and maintain precautions; collect, report, and document data related to patient needs, emergencies, and unusual patient or family behavior.
- Travel to all facility locations as required.
- Attend required staff meetings and other company-sponsored or mandated meetings.
- Perform additional assigned duties.
- Hold current Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Have experience with intravenous starts, phlebotomy, and electrocardiogram initiation.
- For applicable markets, hold current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support or Advanced Life Support certification where it is strongly preferred.
- For the Las Vegas market, hold an active Paramedic or Advanced Emergency Medical Technician license, or complete an intravenous certification course with an active phlebotomy license or Laboratory Assistant certification.
