The Role

We’re looking for a Software Engineer (Backend-Focused) to join our team and help scale our platform. If you have a strong background in Python and Django, enjoy working on complex backend systems, and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, this is an exciting opportunity to own your work, make an impact, and grow with the company.

You’ll play a critical role in developing robust APIs, optimizing database performance, and ensuring scalability as we continue to expand. While your focus will be backend development, experience with TypeScript and React is a plus.

This position is remote-friendly, but we’re looking for someone located on the East Coast (NY/Tri-State area is a big plus) to align with our team’s collaboration hours and potential in-person opportunities in the future.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain backend services using Python and Django to support our growing platform.

• Design and optimize APIs to ensure seamless integration with our frontend and external systems.

• Enhance database performance, optimize queries, and ensure scalability.

• Collaborate with product and frontend teams to deliver seamless, high-performance user experiences.

• Implement AI-driven features, leveraging modern tools to automate and improve the hiring process.

• Own projects from end to end, working autonomously while contributing to a fast-moving team.

What We’re Looking For

• 2-3 years of experience working with Python and Django (must-have).

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, REST APIs, and scalable backend architectures.

• Familiar working with AI tooling (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.)

• Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to optimize performance and efficiency.

• Experience working with TypeScript and React is a nice to have, but not required.

• Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment, with a willingness to take ownership and iterate quickly.

• Located on the East Coast (NY/Tri-State area is a big plus) for better collaboration.
