Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a directly related discipline is required.
- Relevant secondary or college teaching experience is required.
- Interpersonal skills are necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- Sensitivity to the expectations of students, faculty, and staff is required.
- The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form is required.
- Developed organizational skills are required.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to diversity and multicultural issues is required.
Responsibilities
- Instruct and evaluate students in one or more of the following courses, with emphasis on relating mathematics instruction to technical programs: Pre Algebra, Elementary Algebra I & II, Career Mathematics, Structures of Mathematics, Topics in Mathematics, Elementary Statistics, and Technical Algebra and Trigonometry.
- Maintain accurate written records of student performance.
- Participate in the School assessment process.
- Take attendance and maintain records of student attendance.
- Maintain office hours according to the standardized part-time teaching agreement.
- Attend department and School meetings as requested.
Desired Qualifications
- A master's degree in Mathematics or a directly related discipline is preferred.
- Coursework in or experience using technology in instruction is preferred.
- Background applying mathematics to the trades is preferred.
- Experience with graphing calculators and/or computers in a mathematical instructional setting is preferred.
