Requirements
  • Must be currently pursuing a bachelors, masters, or PhD degree at an accredited university
  • Actively pursuing a degree or one closely related in Chemical Engineering or similar
  • Strong technical skills in Thermodynamics, Transport Phenomena, and Process simulation
  • Experience with scientific programming and developing scripts (in Python, VBA, etc.). preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and deliver technical projects
  • Capable of working with cross-functional disciplines, including external stakeholders and clients
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
  • Engage and champion Rivian's goals of sustainability and decarbonization through system designs and project decisions
  • Support System Design - Work with senior engineers to plan and scope the design of the chemical and mechanical systems within our facilities. Review consultant deliverables to ensure adherence with Rivian standards
  • Solve Technical Problems - Solve technically complex problems using fundamental, data driven methodologies. Design and rate the performance of operating systems and individual equipment using first principles. Support the development of planning studies and load estimates for future facility expansion. Review designs and challenge assumptions
  • Help Establish Standards and Processes - Work with the team to help develop our internal design standards, specifications, and analysis tools to improve the design and delivery of all our facilities. Work in digital environments to ensure proper design and coordination
