  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • Proven industry experience in electrically intensive sectors such as process plant, power generation and distribution, marine, oil and gas, food and beverage, or similar regulated industrial environments is required.
  • Proven experience leading a team to deliver effective projects or programmes is required.
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, including low-voltage, medium-voltage, and high-voltage distribution, control systems, and instrumentation interfaces as they relate to computer-aided-design-based workflows is required.
  • Experience producing, reviewing, or issuing electrical design deliverables such as single-line diagrams, schematic and wiring diagrams, cable schedules, equipment layouts, panel drawings, and termination drawings is required.
  • Good knowledge of electrical engineering standards, codes, and working practices, including International Electrotechnical Commission, British Standards, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, project standards, or client specifications is required.
Responsibilities
  • Produce detailed user stories that capture electrical engineering requirements and support high-quality product deliverables.
  • Manage and refine the product backlog so business and customer requirements are clearly documented and prioritised.
  • Ensure user stories include enough detail to support accurate estimation, development, and comprehensive test scenarios.
  • Engage with internal and external reference groups, customer workshops, and Voice of Customer discussions to gather and validate requirements.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies to communicate status, demonstrate deliverables, and support validation of the product vision.
Desired Qualifications
  • Practical knowledge of design lifecycle management, including document control, revision management, and handover requirements within electrical projects is desired.
  • Ability to use electrical engineering expertise to deliver fit-for-purpose product capabilities that create customer impact is desired.
  • Knowledge of ETAP or similar power system analysis and simulation tools is advantageous.
  • Curiosity to learn from customers, industry practice, and internal teams to evolve electrical design workflows and product adoption is desired.

AVEVA appoints Brock Ballard as Chief Revenue Officer. Tue, 25th Aug 2026 (Today) AVEVA has appointed Brock Ballard as Chief Revenue Officer, effective 1 October 2026. He joins the industrial software company from Bentley Systems, where he has been Chief Revenue Officer since 2023. He joined Bentley in 2020 as Vice President and Regional Executive for the Americas. Ballard will succeed Sue Quense, who is stepping down from her full-time executive role and will remain with AVEVA as an Advisor to the AVEVA Executive Leadership Team. She had been planning the change for some time and will work closely with Ballard during the handover and afterwards. The appointment follows what AVEVA described as an extensive recruitment process. Ballard has more than 20 years of experience in technology sales and has held leadership roles at DELMIA Sales, Dassault Systems and Autodesk. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Information Sciences from the University of Alabama. Leadership change The appointment reshapes AVEVA's senior commercial leadership as the company brings in an external executive from another software group serving industrial customers. AVEVA is based in Cambridge and operates globally. Caspar Herzberg, Chief Executive Officer, welcomed the appointment and thanked Quense for her contribution over the past five years. Schneider Electric to acquire Cognite in USD 3.1 billion industrial AI deal. Schneider Electric agrees to acquire industrial AI software provider Cognite in an all-cash deal, strengthening its AVEVA unit's position in industrial intelligence. Schneider Electric has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire 100 percent of Cognite, a provider of industrial data and AI software, in an all-cash transaction valued at USD 3.1 billion, the energy management and automation group announced on 30 June. Cognite, founded in 2017, employs more than 800 people across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. Its cloud-native platform combines a unified industrial data model with agentic AI capabilities, allowing customers to operationalise AI within plant operations, asset management and engineering workflows. In 2025, the company's annual revenue exceeded USD 170 million, with annual recurring revenue bookings growing 36 percent. Advertisments Once completed, Cognite will be integrated with AVEVA, Schneider Electric's wholly owned industrial software company, and consolidated within Schneider Electric's Industrial Automation business. The deal extends AVEVA's CONNECT platform with enterprise-wide data contextualisation capabilities and agentic AI tools, according to the companies. Schneider Electric Chief Executive Officer Olivier Blum said Cognite had built "a truly industrial grade AI platform that turns the complexity of operational data into a competitive advantage." The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals, and is expected to close in the coming quarters. Both Schneider Electric and AVEVA maintain established operations in Singapore and across Southeast Asia, where industrial AI adoption is accelerating alongside regional smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives. The acquisition is likely to have downstream implications for their SEA customer base as Cognite's data and AI capabilities are folded into AVEVA's regional offering.
