VF Corporation and its Timberland(R) brand collaborate with Bunka Fashion College on emerging designer development program in Tokyo.

VF Corporation and its Timberland(R) brand collaborate with Bunka Fashion College on emerging designer development program in Tokyo. VF Corporation, together with its global design hub, the Tokyo Design Collective (TDC) and Timberland(R), have begun a collaborative emerging designer development program with Bunka Fashion College (BFC), one of Japan's most respected fashion institutions. The program, held in Tokyo, is centered on the theme "CRAFT MEETS INNOVATION: Form, Function, and Process." Bringing together perspectives from both industry and academia, the initiative creates an opportunity for dialogue and shared exploration between established design practitioners and the next generation of creative talent. By connecting heritage, craftsmanship, and contemporary design thinking, the program aims to foster new ideas that reflect evolving cultural and societal contexts. Aki Tanabe, Director of Product Design Platform (Japan), VF Corporation, said: "At VF, we value the role that design plays in connecting brands with culture and community. Through the Tokyo Design Collective, we seek to create opportunities for open dialogue across disciplines. Partnering with Bunka Fashion College, with its long-standing contribution to fashion education, allows us to exchange ideas and learn from emerging talent in a meaningful way, while supporting their development as they shape the future of design." Running from June towards the end of the year, this program brings together nine third-year students from Bunka Fashion College's Apparel Design Department. Guided by Bunka faculty alongside industry designers, participants engage in a process that combines research, discussion and co-creation. Throughout the program, students explore social and cultural themes and develop design concepts through field research, prototyping, and presentation. The experience emphasizes not only technical development, but also the ability to frame ideas within broader contexts and communicate them effectively. Rather than a one-way learning format, the program is designed as a collaborative process, encouraging interaction between students and practitioners. This approach allows for a mutual exchange of perspectives, where both sides can gain new insights from the creative process. Selected student work developed during the program will have the opportunity to be showcased during Timberland 2028 Fall/Winter Creative Kick Off event at Timberland Headquarters in Stratham, New Hampshire in the United States, providing opportunities for further dialogue within the brand's design teams. Mirian Lamberth, Senior Director, Creative Direction, Timberland, said: "At Timberland, the strongest ideas emerge where brand, craft, and culture intersect. Working with emerging designers gives us the opportunity to exchange ideas, challenge our thinking, and stay connected to new perspectives. The best innovation doesn't happen in isolation, it happens when different experiences, generations, and viewpoints come together." Faculty Team, Department of Apparel Design, Bunka Fashion College, said: "In today's fashion industry, creators are increasingly expected to understand diverse cultures and perspectives while responding to the needs of global brands and audiences. This partnership with VF Corporation, Tokyo Design Collective (TDC), and Timberland provides our students with a valuable opportunity to apply their ideas and expressive skills within a more practical, real-world environment. We sincerely appreciate this opportunity for collaboration and learning, and hope the experience encourages students to further develop their design thinking and creative rigor through direct engagement with professional processes and global brand perspectives." Through this initiative, VF, Timberland, and Bunka Fashion College come together to create a space for dialogue and experimentation. The program reflects a shared interest in supporting emerging talent and exploring how design continues to develop through collaboration between education and industry.

Timberland opens store at American Dream Mall.

Timberland opens store at American Dream Mall. June 8, 2026 Timberland, owned by VF Corp., opened a store at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, NJ, as the brand ramps up store openings. VF reportedly plans to open 20 full-price and outlet stores this year, including stores opened so far at South Shore Plaza in Braintree, MA and at Houston Premium Outlets. Three more stores are set to open in Texas later this year in Grapevine Mills, Galleria Dallas and Allen Premium Outlets. According to VF's 10K, Timberland operated 147 owned stores worldwide in its latest fiscal year ended March 28. On VF's fiscal fourth quarter analyst call, Bracken Darrell, VF's president and CEO, said Timberland's sales grew 2 percent in the quarter, in line with expectations, as 8 percent growth in DTC (direct-to-consumer) offset a slight decline at wholesale. Darrell said the Timberland brand is expanding its distribution footprint with 11 full-price stores now open and operating in the U.S. The CEO said, "The outsized productivity shown by our new stores are early proof points of our new operating model working as planned. We have exciting plans for Timberland in the coming seasons as we continue to set the stage for long-term profitable growth ahead. This brand can become much larger over time, and I'm confident we're taking the right strategic steps to ensure that happens." Image courtesy Timberland

Employee recognition within work place culture.

Employee recognition within work place culture. CorValu photography has been working with VF Corporation at their Coalville site as they celebrate 5 years of successful operations. Last year they commissioned me to photograph their entire team, some 450 people as they have all been instrumental in the success of the site to celebrate employee recognition within work place culture. I was initially met with some scpeticism but once I explained it was all about them, people soon warmed up and welcomed the opportunity to be photographed. They were happy to be photographed and delighted that they were being recognised for their ongoing contributions. It is not about feeling validated, but knowing your work is appreciated and you are valued, that is the best feeling in the world. If you can show how your people enjoy being photographed, your work place becomes a very attractive place to be, because your people are clearly happy at work. No one likes posing for the camera, which is why its style is much more authentic, capturing moments as they happen, completely natural because that is more believeable. It also captures natural energy, posed and staged head shots rare;y capture real energy or connection, whereas real time photography does capture genuine connection and real energy which makes the images far more interesting. real time photos also tell your story much better, because they are real moments intime, real interactions, real laughter, real emotion. Very few people are great actors, everyone can be real and authentic. Work place culture and employee recognition photography should be part of your reward strategy, on a regular basis.

VF Corp shares rise 7.7% but face declining revenue and weak cash flow margins

VF Corp shares have gained 7.7% to $15.85, outperforming the S&P 500 by 5.4% over the past six months following solid quarterly results. However, the company faces significant challenges. Its constant currency revenue has declined an average of 6.4% year-on-year over the last two years, suggesting increasing competition or market saturation. VF Corp's free cash flow margin of 4.4% over the past two years is below expectations for a consumer discretionary business, limiting opportunities for capital returns. Additionally, the company's return on invested capital has decreased significantly in recent years, indicating scarce profitable growth opportunities. Trading at 16.7× forward price-to-earnings, analysts suggest considerable optimism is already priced into the shares.
