Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Survey, or a related technical discipline
  • Significant hands-on experience with Bentley OpenRoads Designer in a production civil/transportation engineering environment
  • Demonstrated experience with ProjectWise administration or strategy, including workflow design and CDE governance
  • Proven ability to lead technical initiatives across multiple offices or practice groups
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical topics for non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience developing or delivering training programs for engineering software
Responsibilities
  • Own and advance BGE's firmwide Bentley technology roadmap, including OpenRoads Designer, ProjectWise / CDE, and the iTwin/iModel platform
  • Define and maintain standardized ORD design workflows and modeling practices aligned with state DOT and client delivery standards
  • Oversee enterprise ProjectWise strategy in coordination with IT, including environment architecture, access management, and integration with engineering workflows
  • Manage BGE's enterprise Bentley agreements and licensing, serving as the primary Bentley account and relationship contact
  • Serve as the internal subject matter authority and thought leader for Bentley technologies across all BGE practice groups
  • Partner with practice group leaders, project managers, and designers to align Bentley workflows with project delivery requirements
  • Champion adoption of automation, intelligent design workflows, and data-driven delivery approaches (iTwin APIs, Bentley Reporting, ECSQL-based extraction) where they create client value
  • Support BGE's innovation initiatives by identifying emerging Bentley capabilities and evaluating their applicability to firm workflows
  • Develop and maintain structured training programs and learning paths that scale ORD and ProjectWise capability across the firm
  • Mentor and guide practice-embedded Bentley SMEs, building a distributed support model across BGE's offices
  • Coordinate onboarding of new designers and engineers onto BGE's Bentley standards and workflows
  • Partner with the Digital Delivery group on change management initiatives affecting Bentley platforms, applying structured frameworks to drive adoption
  • Collaborate with the Autodesk-focused side of the Digital Delivery group to ensure cohesive firm-wide digital delivery standards
  • Contribute to BGE's broader Enterprise Technology strategy, including IT infrastructure touchpoints such as Bentley IMS, licensing servers, and integration with enterprise systems
Desired Qualifications
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Familiarity with Bentley iTwin platform, iModels, or the Bentley API ecosystem (Grouping & Mapping, Reporting API, ECSQL)
  • Experience with automation or custom tooling in a Bentley environment (MicroStation CONNECT SDK, OpenRoads SDK, or equivalent)
  • Exposure to DOT project delivery environments and standards
  • Background in organizational change management, technology adoption strategy, or digital transformation programs
  • Experience managing enterprise software contracts or vendor relationships
