Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering field required
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in design of major transit/freight rail engineering transportation projects
  • Strong communications skills
  • Strong experience working with transit agencies and/or Class 1 Railroads
  • Ability to lead civil/track aspects on multiple assignments
  • Strong experience in the preparation of plans, specifications, estimates, construction phasing, and construction schedules
  • Extensive working knowledge of OpenRail Designer and Civil3D platforms
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and various engineering and scheduling software
  • Professional Engineer license required
  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members
  • Serve as lead Track Engineer on projects
  • Assures that projects are completed within the allocated time and budget
  • Provide team leadership and technical expertise
  • Plans, organizes, and supervises the work of junior engineers and technicians serving as project support staff
  • Grow and mentor staff, help recruit, and be a positive role model
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies such as AREMA
  • Serves as a technical specialist for the organization for an assigned area of responsibility
  • Perform Independent Reviews of major projects
